Pressure Cooker/Canner or Other Method?

I was searching around for a cheap-mans method to sterilize. Of course, all the TEKs say a pressure cooker at 15psi, etc. There are some cheap ones on Amazon, etc... but many of the cheap pressure cookers have little rocker weights instead of a psi guage. I dont know anything about them, but can these cheaper models be used?

Or, even better, how much luck have you all had with non-pressure cooker methods? Any ideas, if I decide to bypass the PC all-together?

A PC is by far the best way to go IMO, the other methods do not allow the substrate to get nearly as hot.

Pressure cookers that do not have an adjustable pressure setup usually run between 12-15PSI from what I have seen.

I picked up my pressure cooker for something like 30 dollars from walmart, and so far have had no contaminations what so ever, and have done over 30 jars in it. I think it has paid for itself already.
