No. 

The reason I brought up the opinion poll was to show that Russians understand what the conflict is about for Russia a lot better than we do.  Russia tried for peace in Donbas for 8 years, but the Far Right wasn't having it (even though Zelensky was elected in large part to make peace with ethnic Russians).  Then, they wanted Donbas' independence, but Ukraine wasn't having that either.

Even koods wondered why Russia waited so long to do something about NATO expansion before finally doing something now.  Russia is a much less aggressive country than the US, which is doing everything in its power to drag out a war we know will be lost, just to stick it to Russia at the expense of our own citizens.
