Re: What's the best lighting for growth?

The're not like plants, they get no energy from the light but some blue light apparently promotes morphosis and mushroom growth.

cubensis do not grow where I live but I suspect that in nature, do they not grow in broad daylight in the middle of a cow field? I don't think sunshine will hurt them as long as it doesn't get to hot.

I know a guy who put his pinning cakes outside to grow and the mushrooms grew way bigger. I'm not sure if it was a combination of more fresh air or more sunshine but it defiantely made a difference.

sunshine thru glass will fry the cake since glass traps infrared light. ever notice how hot a car gets with windows up ?

I totally agree with emetheus on his last 2 post. you could try having it a little ways to one side of a window with a curtain. it's not direct sunlight and if you can see em then there's planty of light. this is not pot growing 101.
