Anyway, mndfreeze is quite correct in saying that we do not know the exact circumstances of the death and I will concede that there is no-one, save for the police squad (and, until recently, the mountain lion) who is qualified to speak about it in anything more than generalisations.

It was just my apparently bad sense of humour.  I was merely half joking when I said what I did.

wrong, were not the dominant species, we havent even been around that long as a species and we are already in decline and causing everything else on the earth to decline as well. the dominant species is the cockroach. theyve been around since before the dinosaurs and will be around after were gone. we just think were the shit because we destroy everything in our path while spreading like a fuckin plague. yeah i saw the matrix too, and i agree with what agent smith said to morpheus.

a mountain lion has as much right to live and eat your fuckin children as you have the right to live to eat a fuckin hamburger. at least the mountian lion kills what he eats and only kills to eat, to stay alive. fuckin humans hunt and kill for sport, or just out of cruelty. we are a fuckin plague.

Obviously I will try to survive the best I can. I try to not cause suffering to the extent that is comfortable to me. Just because I have ideals does not mean I need to be a wandering monk (although it does have a big appeal to me!). This is not all or nothing- we all have to get by. I think growing my own food and killing a few snails here and there is still more humane than buying food from a store. And when I do buy food from a store I try to appreciate everything that went into it, including the life that was lost. I see the world as an organism- of course things have to die so that others can live, but it all works together. The problem, imo, comes when things are killed unnessecarily such as the mountain lion in question. It could have been moved although there are not many places left for animals like them in our country. The more we encroach on their territory, the more they are endangered. Of course humans see more value in the lives of mammals than they do in bacteria we wash off our hands- we relate more to them. So don't blame those of us who relate to the mountain lion and mourn it's death!
