I know the feeling. I'm on Zoloft as well as a few other medications, and they made me fat! It sure is a lot easier puttin' it on than takin' it off, I gotta say.

I smoke cigarettes, and it doesn't seem to help.. But, honestly, I don't know why Zoloft makes you pack on the pounds. Maybe Zoloft isn't for you - it's a very powerful SSRI and usually prescribed for severe depression. Also, heavy sweating with little exertion is a sign of too much serotonin.

Everyone's a wee bit different, biochemistry-wise. Consider yourself lucky!

I lost weight on my meds. But if you only knew how many perscription drugs they got me on for my OCD. But I was so depressed and had so many phobias and negative thoughts that the pills are actually helping me. The biggest problem I have found is the psychiatrists who give pills out. I could do a better job of giving out the pills. I would have fixed my problem a long time ago. It took him forever to work me up to where I am now, he didn't beleive me when I said how depressed I was. I would have had me on the good drugs long before he gave them out to me.

modern medicine is cool and all, but what the hell is up with all the side effects?
quoth the sheet of paper in front of me about zoloft:
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: side effects that may occur while taking this medicine include nausea, dry mouth, increased sweating, drowsiness, diarrhea, upset stomach, or trouble sleeping. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience uncontrollable shaking, loss of appetite, unusual weight loss, decreased interest in sex, or decreased sexual ability. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience unusual or rapid weight gain, unusual or severe mental or mood changes, seizures, thoughts of hurting yourself or worsening depression. Males: in the unlikely case that you experience a painful or prolonged erection, seek immediate medical attention or severe problems could occur.
then it goes on about allergic reactions. wtf.
here's my symptoms: increased sweating, upset stomach (not much but it's there), unusual or rapid weight gain, decreased interest in sex.
fuck zoloft!
