Zoloft
    #10813487 -

I just starting taking this stuff a few days ago for social phobia/anxiety disorder. Apparently it takes a few weeks for it to have any noticeable efficacy. Anyway, I assume someone who has or is taking it can say something about it so I that I may have a better understanding of its effects. So, anybody? It's not going to turn me into a thoughtless zombie, is it?

I posted this here assuming that it would get more views and more replies, but if I moderator feels that it would be better suited for ODD then move it there for me, please.

You'll probably lose your libido completely, very reduced effects of shrooms, MDMA, and LSD to name a few, and every day will feel like the first day of summer vacation. I also noticed I was waaay more optimistic about life, problems weren't insurmountable, and generally a lot more zest for life.

If you can deal with the loss of libido and extremely diminished drug effects, you'll LOVE it.

Isn't that the goal?

I was on it for awhile. It made things worse for me. The weird brain zap things I got when I quit taking it will forever deter me from taking another ssri.

Fuck that shit.

I was put on various adhd medicines as well as zoloft ever since second grade.

Having spiritual breakthroughs on psychedelics and meditation have helped me more than anything else.

It will steal your soul and make you a zombie.

I didn't even like music until I got off that shit.

I had no emotions so I didn't feel sad.

That's how that shit works.

It will.  Also causes you to be unable to have an orgasm, unable to sleep, and weight gain.

No. No it isn't. Having gone through hellish years of suicidal depression, I am admittedly a little sensitive about people making light of 'real' depression.

The doctor who prescribed it to me said that only a small percentage of people experience any specific side effect.

It might help you for a while but it is definatly just used to cover shit up and in the end will bite you in the ass.

Get to the source of your social phobia/anxiety disorder

Meds really helped me for a year or two but then they lost their effect and I came down real hard when I decided to stop taking that shit after I graduated high school.

Luckly that's when I met mary jane and she introduced me to her psychedelic freinds.

Thats almost certainly bullshit. Your side effects may differ...I never got what most of the other people are talking about, except for the brain zaps. And those DO REALLY SUCK.

i think marijuana is much better then zoloft for depression, at least for me. psychedelics have helped a lot- really.    become one with your surroundings :psychsplit:

i used to be very depressed a couple years back, not to say i don't get depressed now- but \psychedelics can really help you go beyond depression

While I was on it I didn't complain because I didn't know what it felt like to feel normal. (have emotions)

I said any specific side effect, not side effects all together.

making light of it? nig, I've been on zoloft, paxil, wellbutrin, lemictul, xanax, and valium. dont ever talk down to me again

Then I should think you would know that turning yourself into a thoughless zombie *isn't* the goal.
