a different take on hiding shit...
    #2048231 - 10/27/03 06:50 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

why stash things in your home or car? there are a great many spots where things can be hidden away in public areas.

get creative... there are tons of places to hide stuff. most people probably have a great, secure place they could be hiding things not far at all from the place they live. you could stash something away somewhere like that and have no worries about it, instead of having it in your home, where it is much more of a legal liability.

here's a short guide:

1. pick a place that you can get in and out of without being observed. the hiding spot should be somewhere that you can get to, and get away from, without arousing any suspicions.

2. the spot must be fairly permanent. hiding things in places that will be disturbed by maintanence or repair people isn't going to do you any good. nor is it a good idea to hide stuff in something that will be moved or destroyed.

3. hide stuff where it will not be found. you don't want to be putting stuff where people might accidentally get into it. children, as well as maintanance, construction, or repair people are the threat here. if your spot is lousy, or if you're seen accessing it, your stuff may be found, and the area possibly put under suveillance. at the very least, you will lose your shit.

4. hide stuff where it's not hard for you to get to. if you've got to hike 2 miles into the woods and clear a foot of dirt every time you wanna roll a joint, that's not practical. it will also become obvious that the area is being frequently disturbed. each time you leave, things should look the same as when you got there. you also don't want to have to take alot of time getting to your shit when your at the spot. the longer you're there, the greater the risk. the accessability of something should be related to how often you need to get to it though. burying a pound of mushrooms you won't need for many months isn't a terrible idea.

5. store things in ways they will not degrade. if your stash is exposed to the elements, you'll probably want to use a jar.

6. do not allow your stash to be incriminating in the event that it is found. make sure the container you use is clear of fingerprints.

7. when going to the spot, wear gloves, and perhaps a hat or even sunglasses. also, keep your head up. look for signs of disturbance or surveillance.

8. do not tell anyone about the spot.

9. make sure it's somewhere which you can find. commit the location to memory.

do you have any good ones? all i can think of are bushes. at least near my house.

maybe you could dig a hole, put a box in the hole, and put a rock over the box long with some lose dirt.

the hole idea would be good, as long as the actual location was ok.

bushes aren't really much good.

non-man-made things are good because they're least likely to be disturbed.

if you live somewhere that such a location is available (like if there's a large wooded area near your home), that's great. the trick with these places is not being seen while you're visiting them, and making sure that the site always appears undisturbed.

there are other options for urban dwellers that may require them to get more creative. the possibilties are really endless. any spot where there's a little privacy and one can find a little undisturbed nook, something can be concealed.

if you've got alot to stash, it's not a bad idea to have a mother stash and then a smaller one. let's say i got a little carried away and ended up growing a few pounds of mushrooms. i sure wouldn't want this in my home, but i'd still want it someplace very secure... also, i probably wouldn't need to get to it much if i had a smaller stash someplace else. i'd sacrifice convenience for security and bury it somewhere very safe. then i'd have a smaller, more accessible stash for more frequent access...

you get the idea....

it's a great feeling knowing that your place is clean.

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

Great idea if you like to watch stoned squirrels.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. I think the risks of children finding my hidden in public stash and getting hurt/overdosing outweighs the risk of being responsible and keeping my stash in my home where it belongs.

you would think number 1 was obvious.
when i was a kid there was a group of dealers who used to stash outside. we watched them and robbed everything they had. was a good pay day for a couple of kids

Take up a camping hobby. Find yourself a nice cheap tent you can modify, a little mini shovel, and a handheld GPS nav.
