i'm in ny, and i've been caught with pot 2 times, and the third time they didnt find my stash, but i was driving. I was never arrested, not saying that i wont, just never have.

the first time: downtown going to a dope house in the ghetto...i didnt want to go, but everyone was depending on me....go to the house through the back door, hand comes out of the mail slot, give him 70$ for some dime bags, get the bags and go.
walking back to my car around the corner, housing authority sees me, stops me, pulls my bags out of my pocket and kept asing me "got any crack bud?, where is it?" I'm like, "i dont smoke crack" . They run my name, nothing comes back, they take my shit and tell me to get my weed somewhere else.

second time: Went to see traffic (heh!) at the theatres. me and my girl meet our friends there, we go in my car to smoke a bowl. We're parked, we smoked 2 bowls. right when i open the door, a cop is right there and smoke is rollin out of my car. We all get out they search us. I only had like a couple grams. the cop asked me how much we smoked and if i was smoking on the way there while driving, of course i said i wasnt and just told him we smoked a bowl, and that was it. my friend gave them his pipe and pot, my other friend just kept hers in her pocket, they never really searched her, lucky. and my girlfriend had her pot taken away..what sucks is that she had almost a quarter of this nug we had just bought. she didnt mean to bring the whole bag, we never do, but she forgot to take it out of her purse. anyways, no one got arrested, we were 10 minutes late for our movie and we each got a 100$ fine, not bad.

finally, the third time going to a festival in syracuse. we get pulled over getting off the thruway for a broken taillight. cop comes up to the window, talking and shit...this is where i fucked up, he says, come on out and look at the taillight, and i do which gives him a good chance to look at me, sees my eyes are a little glazed over, and my hat smells like pot, gives a sobriety test i pass, but while this was going on, a second cop was talking to my friends telling them i was failing the test and i was gonna get arrested..this is where my one friend fucked up, he just hands his stuff over to him, now they can search the truck. my pot was in my girls bra, so they didnt find that, my friends pot got taken away, and she also had a little opium on her. no one gets arrested, we get an appearance ticket. come back in a few months, pay our 160$ fines, and we are off...i actually sent the payment in through the mail when i got home. about one year later, the day before i'm supposed to leave for bonnaroo, i get arrested for never paying the fine, it never got there. i pay it again and help a little village fix their busted ass streets.

if thats your opinion then rock on.
i wasnt trying to illustrate anything at all with those stories, i was just sharing my experiance.
actually both times even tho i was blunted out of my skull i sobered up immediatly and talked my way out both times. you just need to keep your cool when talking to the cops and they wont ever search your car, as per my own experiance.
if you act like a sober individual not a retarder stoner why would they search the car?they would have no reason to.

First of all driving high is dangerous and you deserve to be busted. Second cop have a large battery of both field test and lab test back at the station to tell if you are high on something.

Secondly there are drug test that can tell if you are high at the time, they are different from the ones employers use, they involve blood samples and I would assume they test directly for the drug itself not its metabolites

Soft Rat, you are an idiot.

None of the tests you mention measure impairment, just use. Actually, it doesn't measure use...it just tells if you have smoked pot in the last thirty days or not. Driving high is not fucking dangerous if your not an asshole about it; and just about anyone who drives stoned goes slower, so I don't understand how that equates to burning rubber and hitting pedestrians. The British Government conducted a study into "drugged drivers" and studied motor impairment of a few individuals intoxicated with THC. The group that ordered the study within the British government was EMBARASSED.... come to find out, scores on the test actually IMPROVED with the precense of tetra-hydra cannibinol in the blood at intoxicating levels. BOOYAH! Doesn't suprise me in the least!
