Also very fun to sit out with an open exposure and get lightning shots. It's crazy what it looks like compared to what you see with the naked eye.

Yeah I’ve seen the shots but I’ve never done it myself.  Looks cool, but I still think experiencing it first hand can’t be beat :shrug:.

Watching it first hand for sure beats having a photo, especially when you get a long storm and have a good (and safe!) view.

Doing exposures is super easy if you have a halfway decent digital slr and a decent area with low light pollution to shoot. You just keep the lense open and close after a strike. That is just for a standard old lightning photo, you can get crazy with you exposures and make some crazy shit but that is beyond my knowledge.

One of my favorite storms was driving from Oregon back to Southern California. My whole drive from Ashland to Redding just had a huge lightning storm basically matching my speed but far enough in the distance that it never effected me. Really helped the 12am - 3am drive period.

Remote shooting app or buttons are also a big plus.

It feels so nice to lay here and be lazy.

I made some laudanum tea, smoking some weed, and listening to ambient rain sounds.

I should sleep but I feels good to be lazy and I have a busy two days ahead of me.

In other news Denver Police have been banned from firing gas or projectiles into crowds.

This is a huge win for us.

I’ve been in multiple crowds that have been gassed and had rubber bullets fired upon down in Denver and that shit is seriously scary and far from nonlethal.

That's too bad Logical. You would think that they would want a guy instead of a girl. When I used to clean bathrooms at Kmart the womens bathroom was always way way way messier than the guys bathroom.

Another point is that women have way more beauty products than  guys. I was taking a shower a few weeks ago and couldn't find my shampoo right away so I noticed my wife had literally over 35 items just in our shower area.

I never got the separate public bathroom thing either. Why is it such a weird thing to sit next to a girl who is also making a poopie? Then there is the cost. Every building has to have two rooms with the same equipment. Way expensive. Imagine if we still had segregation. A mens room and ladies room for whites. Then a mens room and ladies room for blacks. The whole building ends up being 50%  bathroom by the time you're done building.

I got this Lego Mindstorms robotics set recently and I found out yesterday you can put Linux on the controller brick. So I got that set up and I can SSH into it, but the example programs are not finding the motors etc. Not sure if I screwed up a step setting it up, might have to start from scratch. But it looks like it should be cool when it works. Apparently things like cameras will work in the USB port like normal if they would otherwise work with Linux. The wifi adapter I had did not work under the original Lego firmware and now I can use it.

That's super cool. Good luck with that! I don't really know much about even simple robotics(which is bad...because my dad always puts those cute little sets in my stocking at christmas and I am a terrible person for never doing them :facepalm:) but I know compatibility issues can be a real bitch with stuff like raspberry pi, so fingers crossed you can work it all out without frankensteining it. Looks like you've got some fun troubleshooting ahead though lol.



Yesterday I drove 40 miles roundtrip to a bar in the closest town after a 25 mile bike ride to get a curbside strawberry daquiri that I've been craving since Memorial Day. I brought a cooler and everything. I forgot my ID and they wouldn't serve me. Just still a little salty about it.

For Mexico it's crime. I had trouble sleeping last time I visited Canada, because we stayed in a rental house and the rooms had glass windows with no bars at street level. That shit's unthinkable here, you only get bar free windows past the first floor in good neighborhoods and the second or third in bad ones.

It's super commmon for rentals here to be women only, mostly because of the cleanliness thing. Even "clean" guys can be pigs. My room mates left a piece of pizza on the floor (and I didn't pick it up because I wanted to see how long it would last there) and it didn't move until the cleaning lady came over. That being said, I've met some disgusting women.

Dope! You got any pics? I've got a couple Raspberry Pi laying around I haven't done much with, I've been wanting to set up a timelapse camera or a dashcam, the hard part for the dascam would be the hard drive, since a micro SD card will eventually die from so many writes and having a portable harddrive sitting on my dashboard is gonna get my window smashed. A contractor from my last job  made his own gimbal with arduino and milled steel and it was dope!

PB: That sucks! Why not make your own?
