Yeah i heard those black squirrels are assholes!

Although those mini squirrel looking ones are cool. Its too bad Looney Tunes never banked on those skunk-looking squirrels. They missed out....

They always did that gag where a cat would get a white paint stripe on its back somehow and then Pepe Le Pew would think it was a skunk and fall in love with it.

I love that gag. Wish they would have brough in a black squirrel with a white-tipped tail thou. That would have been fun.

my family had a tree farm in wa until a few years ago. i spent a lot of time working out there as a teen. quite a bit of logging in ak too but mostly for firewood and lumber not as a profession. id like to see more of the flyers they seem pretty cool. the little red ones are dangerous AF i got tired of killing them all because they kept coming out the woods like a plague so i would live trap them to rellocate but sometimes they would be so stressed out they would kill themselves by running circles so fast into the corners and trying to force themselves into the cracks

blunt force trauma. when you see a nazi use it, aim for the gonads. datsun pickups do wonders.

i smacked that punk in the mouth for you guys last night btw just wanted you to know. he showed up at the tittie bar talking shit right after you guys kicked him out and nobody else was in there so i had to

My bad. Blue light filter doesn't work well with this theme.

I'm so glad I properly ID'd you though

I did try it but it was very astringent. Apparently some pines are high in tannin or something. So I watched a YouTube video on it and have been trying to learn how to ID tree subspecies. I'm afraid I'm not very good at it so far but I'm learning.

I was camping alone on a cold night when we had that convo about foraging and I still think about it from time to time. Twas good.

yes it was. i love talking about that stuff. the tender green tips in spring are the best, not quite as astringent. i think spruce tips are slightly sweeter. juniper berries (actually cones) and tips is the best tasting tea from conifers i think but careful cuz it makes you piss a lot

I thought it was cool that the cedar here (Eastern white cedar) contains thujone, the same chemical that supposedly gives absinthe special effects. Never tried consuming (thujone is supposed to be neurotoxic for one) but the foliage is one of my favorite smells.

the terpines you are smelling definitely have physiological effects on their own, for instance [edit]pinene dilates the airways. high doses or combined with other terpines and alkaloids they can have psychological effects (couch-lock, munchies, paranoia, anxiety, etc). if you smoke weed you probly know about that stuff. very good for medicine. wormwood [artemesia species] (an ingrediant in absinthe) is some crazy shit would not recommend for expirementating to get high. very effective medicines in there though

Oh yeah, i know several people who simply cannot drink because they have zero self-control with it.

Some info on Absinthe:

Quote:
As of 2007, the regulations on sale and possession of absinthe in the United States were relaxed, with several foreign and domestic brands approved for distribution. An American absinthe distillery, St. George Spirits of Alameda, California, opened up shop in 2007. St. George Spirits is the first American absinthe distillery since 1912.

ok ye i remember hearing about that now. i
think i remember hearing that the american versions were not really authentic somehow like they were missing some secret part of the recipe or something. i always have everclear around for potioning and tincturing i have a few different dried artemsia species too maybe ill look into it. pretty sure all the good stuff besides the alcohol that makes the absynthe "trippy" is lethal in high doses
