Finished cupcake product.  I’m not too good at piping frosting so they’re a bit wonky, but mostly I think they’re okay.  Had to make three different batches of frosting this morning, glad I got an early start on it.

Here’s the cotton candy cake with cream cheese frosting:



And then the yellow cake with vanilla frosting & the yellow cake with chocolate frosting:



Hella cakes son.

Great cupcakes! I made some cannabudder last night. I used some weed I've had for at least a year or more that I found in my stash. The recipe callas for a decarb, but I also read that since it is so old that it may have decarbbed on it's own. Either way I made the budder no decarb. I

I have made several batches of budder over a few years and I have never seen the budder as light and close to yellow as this batch. It smells very nicely of weed though. One recipe stated that their batch always turns out this closer to yellow color due to "proper decarb".

Has anyone made budder and this happened? Does the budder you people make always look more yellow/less green? I also found a thc dose per cookie calculator per percentage of thc listed on the weed bought at a dispensary. It came to approximately 50 mg/#15 cookie batch based on a "daywrecker 30% THC".

I used about 7-10g/1lb butter. I added some other old bits of old weed laying around, and I also found some kief I might add if this batch isn't very strong. Ended up 44g and some odd grams short of a pound. Probably lost in the chunk I threw away in the cheesecloth.

The nice things about being sick is I can barricade myself in my room by myself and my wife has to cook for me and bring me water and my son has to STAY AWAY! :lol:

Cookies are in the oven, ghiardelli CH and I added extra dark and milk choco chips. 340 for 20 mins, I also read that over 350 starts to degrade the budder. :shrug: I rarely make cookies, only firecrackers. I have had great success with all my other cookie batches, but I'm trying to get really "technical" with this one, as much as possible anyway, lol.

Birthday party in the bag.  I gotta say, to any parents thinking about throwing a party at commercial space that does that kinda thing, it’s really no more stress-free than throwing the party at your house.  And maybe even more so, in some cases.  At a kids’ party place, you’re on their timeframe, and if they fuck something up, you haven’t got much recourse.  And they’ll nickel & dime you for whatever they can.  At least, this has been my experience.  I think in the future we’ll stick to throwing parties at home where we have more complete control of the situation and aren’t bound to any timeframe but our own.  All in all, it worked out pretty well, the kids had a good time, but the cost to stress ratio wasn’t as different as I hoped it would be. Just glad to be done with it.  Time to start stressing about Xmas, lol.

And thanks 1234go, the cupcakes were surprisingly a hit.

Obviously it depends when the birthday is but my favourite spot so far was just inviting everyone to this big campground kinda park thing in the nearest city. It has a big park area for the kids with tons of slides and such and a big pavillion with probably 30 picnic benches. There's also like this little zoo thing if you want to call it that, like a bird sanctuary I guess. Free to be there so we took as much time as we wanted and when the kids got silly they just went and played. I can't say I know what the weather's like where you're at this time of year but maybe something like that could work for you another time. We went to a pool party once but it seemed kinda hectic and cramped once you include all those parents. Plus the pizza sounded expensive.

Speaking of christmas she made us put the tree up today. Guess ill have to wrap those few things I have tonight :lol:

In previous years we used to do something very similar to that for the older son because his birthday is in the summer.  It’d be a bit cold here for an outdoor party today, but I definitely prefer using the pavilion at a park.  It’s pretty much ideal.

Speaking of cold, I just took a walk & saw something kinda unusual.  Ok so it’s 40°F here, with a nice chilly breeze, so it’s not exactly frigid, but it’s far from warm.  I saw someone walking toward me down the street, from the gait and shape of them I assume they were an elderly person.  Couldn’t see a face or hair because they were in some kind of balaclava or ski mask, plus winter coat.  Gloved hands carrying two pound weights.  Something seemed off about the way they were walking, and I only pieced it together when they were right next to me: this person was totally barefoot.  No shoes, no socks, just bare feet on cold blacktop.  They seemed to know what they were doing, but most walkers I encountered are shod, especially at this time of year.  Interesting walk tek for sure.
