Blue Oysters
    #2615267 -

I have a Mycobag fully colonized and I have some logs that were cut last year, they are hardwood(oak I think). Can I somehow innoculate these logs with what I have and grow them outdoors?
I'm in central Florida BTW.

I have not tried colonizing year old logs before , but I did with some freshly cut ones. They were cottonwood logs which i put in bags with a few handfuls of spawn in each bag and I just smeared it as best as i could on the logs and then punched holes in the bags with a nail. they completely colonized in about 5 months. Here are pics of them fruiting(last summer):

Hey very nice!
I may just try to fruit them as is-I have never grown oysters before and I assume I will screw it up so no need to get ahead of myself.
Thanks anyway!

I'm kind of confused. What is fully colonized inside of your mycobag; grain, sawdust, plugs or straw? The answer you seek depends on those:

Grain ---> Pasteurize straw and spawn after cooling and draining. you can really ghettofy this process for cultivation outdoors.
Sawdust ----> Fruit it directly out of the bag, spawn it into straw, or make log columns.
Straw ---> Fruit it directly or superspawn into more straw.

I do not know your indoor setup; however, you will probably enjoy fruiting outside more. You'll need a lot of air exchange or you'll get antler like mushrooms that are only good for soup bases. You can give your substrate a more thorough soaking outside and your fruits will last longer once harvested.

I won this from Mycobag! Thanks again Mycobag!!
I have no idea what is inside this bag-I didnt prepare it,but it looks like some kind of wood debri.
I dont really have an indoor setup.Just a shelf to set it on.
I birthed it last night-well I cut the slots in the bag and draped the humidity tent over the top of it.I hope I havent screwed this up.I have never tasted oysters before.

The blue oyster kit from Mycobag is straw based.
