Blue Oyster Cult - UPDATED

Howdie folks,

So the Bellsouth guy is in our office building this week and walks in our office do do some wiring work. We have some colonized MycoBags marked "Blue Oyster Cult" near our humitity chamber....

"So what's up with these Blue Oyster Cult bags?" he asks. "Are they just like those shrooms I ate at the Stix concert back in the day? Gawd, that was some fun stuff man."

God, I just about fell out of my chair.

Anyway, a week later the small Straw Based MycoBags are fruiting with Blue Oysters:



Should be a bit more developed tomorrow. I'll update if they look any better.

Here are some pictures 24 hours later. It developed VERY nicely. I love how this one looks... going to get the taste test this evening.

The first picture shows the color the best. Color is more pronounced when the fruits are immature, but you can still definitely see a hint of the blue.





We have a few more small bags getting ready to fruit. I'm taking pics and will have a complete log up on them in the next few days.

Here is another block we put in the ghetto chamber a few days after the one pictured above. It was developing nicely, but I think our humidifier ran dry for a few hours over the weekend and as a result it looks like we lost some of the developing fruits when they were maturing.



And after the weekend we had some over-ripe specimens and some dried out forming fruits.. still need to find a way to have this chamber survive the weekend without refilling. Looks like when the Blue Oyster over-ripens it looses it's blue coloring.



These are MUCH tastier than the Gold and Pink varieties. I think the Blue Oyster may even have a better flavor than the Phoenix.

:grin: I didn't even notice  :smile: I saw the blue oyster cult once at the rosemont horizon chicago (i think), it was about 10 years ago (i think), it was a free concert, free tickets or something,  :smile:
