I feel like trump may be in real trouble this time. Rudy Guiliani pretty much admitted Trump promised Urkraine better treatment in return for information about a Biden bribery allegation.

So if this situation is what it seems to be... that trump withheld $250 million in military aid to Ukraine until the new government agreed to manufacture an investigation into Joe Biden..: then the democrats have to impeach. This is so beyond any question texttbook abuse of power, using the power of the state to damage his potential opponent. This one is different.

No.  You can't even retell the story right without make believing.  :facepalm:

There was a NY Times link in the Politico story that said Biden himself "threatened to withhold $1 billion in United States loan guarantees if Ukraine’s leaders did not dismiss the country’s top prosecutor, who had been accused of turning a blind eye to corruption in his own office and among the political elite."  So withholding money for corruption is nothing new.

But what is interesting here (from the NY Times link) is that that prosecutor Biden wanted fired was in the process of investigating an energy company that Biden's son was on the board of!  :popcorn:

I’m not talking about whatever the Biden shit is. I’m talking about the president of the United States extorting the Ukrainians to initiate a politically motivated investigation.

That "politically motivated investigation" may well have been finding out why Biden withheld money from the Ukrainians to stop their investigation of the energy company his son was on the board of.  Seems relevant, no?

If it was illegal for Trump, then it was certainly illegal for Biden.  The difference is that Biden was covering for his Son, while Trump may want to expose Biden's cover up.

I don't doubt biden is scummy.  Worse than we likely know.

So much of the elite beyond who is who, is just how they get things done.  It's tragic how know who and public perception is in the equation.

Ok if that’s illegal I have no problem with anyone paying for their crime, period. In that same vein is the president doing something illegal? I believe they should be held accountable, but it’s the way in which this president does business that I’m concerned about

Obviously and no one I think would disagree we have 2 sets of laws
