Can I trust my g2g jars?
    #26142135 -

This is probably the 3rd post I've made since doing g2g, and I have got no clarity on this question. I've read too many posts about g2g contam and folks talking about how contams are very easy to contract while doing g2g. Now, about 10 days ago, I made a g2g transfer and I feel like I messed up a good bit when it comes to sterile technique. However, I now have 12 jars that are fully colonized, only white, and exuded a strong mushroom smell from the polyfill holes when I did the shake at 30%. I even shook one at 100%, and it has fully recovered.

My plan is to use 7 jars for an unmodified tub, 4 across shoeboxes, and one as a donor for another round of g2g transfers. All that said, I'm not 100% confident my spawn is clean simply because of the way things went down at transfer, but right now, everything looks clean. My problem is I've only dealt with bacteria in jars (it was only one and it was from a2g transfer). So, I have no frame of reference for how/when contamination will rear its ugly head in g2g transfers, and I'd like to avoid wasting my time spawning bunk jars (especially in the unmodified tub).

So, my question is: can I trust my jars? Should I trust my jars? Should I wait longer to see if mold forms? Should I just suck it up, get to work on spawning/transfering, and deal with contams if they happen?

- As you have described them, I'd say as much as any.
- If it is as you described.
- No.
- Yes.

:whathesaid:

also, if you shake and they recover well, you pair that with a smell test at spawning and visual cues and if all is well then they are generally good to go

I would just get on with it and focus on your SAB and G2G technique, likely you will be mostly successful

good luck

Thankfully, unlike the rest of us, funky has the ability to see said jars without pictures, and I trust him  :heartpump:

But for the rest of us, we cannot give good advice without pics
