For sure man, no hard feelings were felt! I should have thought to post this in a more appropriate sub-forum or at least just in the general discussion thread. I just tend to spend most of my time here reading all the fine work you guys do. I have learned a lot from y’all and didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers. I hope to be able to actually contribute something worthwhile around here but I still have quite a lot to learn. I did start out with about 50 agar jars and have already got my oats, gypsum, and coir, and have done my best to utilize what I have learned here, I take this hobby very seriously because it will provide me with the type of medicine that helps me more than any other and I am very grateful for the educational information archived here.

Your post is fine. No need to post it elsewhere. Not everything in MC must be a long winded tek or a year long project. Simple observations are definitely welcome here.

I totally agree that there are all kinds of threads within the cultivation forums where casual observations and random humor are certainly applicable/appropriate within the flow and structure of the various threads. (i.e. - mush cult general discussion thread, tip of the day, confessions of an amateur mycologist to name a few possible examples of existing threads this could find it's way into very easily)

However, I have seen moderators gripe about this multiple times in the much shorter amount of time I have been around here than yourself. I lurked longer than I've been registered, but nowhere near as long as you've been here, you probably have even been a TC longer than I have lurked, so I must assume you have seen this gripe from mods too. To start a brand new thread in Mush Cult knowing it isn't a legit productive minded post, or question, or what have you is frowned upon and discouraged as they painstakingly take the time to get these places cleaned up during the purges.

Vibes are all good, to OP and everybody else for sure.:thumbup:

Just pulling a new brother's coattail to something that will help him in the long run and cast him in a better light to the mods and other serious community members as he is getting started out with his new account here in the shroomery. I'd want someone to do the same for me :shrug:

Yep. Funky monkey isn't a mod here either :shrug: and dude's opinion posts might be better suited for the pub etc..

The whole point of why it made me laugh was because it was posted here, in this forum. Wouldn't work in the Pub since humour is all about creating a premise and then smashing it.

Nope, and I don't think I would ever be the guy for contributing with that kind of task lol. I'm not that tech savy, and that realization is part of what makes me really appreciate this place and how much better organized it is than all of the other mycology sites. Much more concise clear information can be found here, 100 times more. I love how smooth this place runs (down time aside) and I value not only the information but the dedication it takes to facilitate such a fantastic site for us.

My reputation/standing around here means something to me in my new hobby, and when I open my mouth (fingers) to say something to another member my comments/advice typically fall in line with that sentiment, and I assume the other member wants the same for himself around these parts. When you make a point to offer value to the community when you can, you elicit more quality interactions and help/dialougue from other reliable, and respected community members/cultivators in turn making you a better mycologist/hobbyist comming full circle to the "Win-Win" in the end.

Not a mod, just a fanboy.
