Hell yeah! When i saw the title of this thread i immediately thought:

Geddy Lee.

Not that i think he's the best player to ever pick up the instrument. I just love Rush and it's amazing that Geddy can play so awesomely and still play keyboards AND do vocals!

I also love Les Claypool, Flea, Jaco. Stanley Clarke, probably most famous for his work with Steely Dan, is one of my faves. TimBob from Rage is underrated in me opinion. Ummm....the bass player from White Zombie (for hotness factor :loveeyes:

) But I'm a drummer, so bass knowledge is not my specialty.

ummmm..... as far as i know.... stan never played with steely dan. i would say he is most famous for playing on chick corea's Return To Forever.

if someone wants to know how fusion started, they should just listen to Return To Forever and Bitches Brew. those are basically the first 2 fusion albums.
