The data is clear that Republicans are the party of the less educated. Educational attainment is highly correlated with voting democrat.

I don't think its even close to a draw. Regardless of policies (which are swill left or right) one is a functionally intelligent statesman of refined tastes and the other, well, isnt.

Republicans fall for faux populism and Democrats support people who would sell them out for a penny.

Populism at its core is successful, it’s the wave Trump rode into office on. Perhaps with enough doofery by Captain Orange and the crew the direction will be corrected, here’s hoping.

In the end mainstream media fools us all. Neutrality is a bias when it comes to foundational concepts. Their is no neutrality on whether mercury is toxic or not and giving a platform to the not side is what we see more often than not in mainstream media.

P.S. I get the nuances to mercury toxicity in regard to the form it’s in an exposure levels but it’s a good example nonetheless.

I don't think "education" is equivalent to "smart".

Sure, they are correlated, but someone with a college degree isn't necessarily "smart". See: POTUS.

Democrats are by and large the party of the educated the more educated you are the more left leaning you generally become the data is pretty clear. Republicans generally distrust institutions I don't want to paint them with a broad brush and call them stupid but by and large many Republicans are not as well educated.

If they are on the extreme spectrum both are equally dumb. Average people not in politics though theres data that suggests democrats are generally more educated but that doesn't translate to smart in life.

Id have to say as much as I'd like to say democrats are smarter and much better for America that's an opinion. That for me is based on many direct negative effects Trump has had on my life and personally I think he's the worst President in American history.

However republicans\trump supporters generally aren't 100% stupid people they are people just like us. The difference is they think they are helping save America and that Trump is saving America. This may seem like a reality to them because the South has been on a death slide for a while and now some coal jobs are back etc. Even though I basically loathe everything Trump stands for I don't loathe my fellow Americans, even if they are republicans

I lived in one of the most educated and affluent counties in the country for over 20 years, it was filled with doctors, lawyers, business owners and high level corporate executives. It had historically voted majority Republican. 

Yes, I get the current narrative, people that voted for Trump are some Southern redneck with the Confederate flag in the back of a pickup truck. That's only part of the story.

Hell, in my "liberal" state, Hillary got 54% and Trump got 40%. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_United_States_presidential_election_in_Connecticut

That's pretty dam even in reality.

I doubt that is true. You probably feel that is true but facts don’t care about your feelings.

538 did a breakdown of counties by education and almost without exception the most highly educated counties shifted Democratic in the 2016 election. Trump has turned the Republican Party into the party of morons.

Educated people might th  have gone to university longer but uneducated people pave the roads, fix sinks, repair cars, builds houses, pour concrete, stock the shelves, drive the buses, serve your food, drive the trucks etc etc.

A bunch of them make more money than someone with a degree too.

Hell, educated are so smart that they spent 50000$ to get their degree and now need a candidate to cancel all their debt. All 1.6 trillion dollars of it.
