Germinating stubborn spores?

Im on my second spore syringe each of ape n peu, says they were made 4/19 from a trusted vendor, ive gone through atleast a hundred plates , ive tried softer agar , more nutritious agar , just putting a drop, then a few drops , then just soaking the plates and still nothing will grow ,  the regular pe from the same order germinated quick on every plate but cant get the peu n ape to germ for the life of me.

Ima whip up some brf pucks tomorrow and see if theyll take to that, but any tips would be appreciated incase theres something im not thinking of.

I dont wanna have to order more again since its a gamble to get em to canada, i wish vendors sold swabs im not a fan of syringes

What's your average agar recipe like?

Tried pre made powder, and agar and lmea at 10/10, 10/12, 9/10 and 9/12 per 500 ml

Try starting them in a solution of 3% blue cloud brown rice syrup water with a dash of peptone. Screw top pyrex test tubes work well. Then once you have some life just do a few streak plates and clean it up.


These are first generation mushrooms from 15 year old wild spores printed on card stock in Costa Rica.
