I live on a metaphorical road where people speed past day and night, making their animalistic hormones roar in their prized and stolen chariots.

They travel round the block in circles on a dead beat track, in a loop - asleep.

The thing that awaken people seek is perhaps the very thing that the sleepers fear...

Judging mind is the worst.  It's become recreation for eons and only gotten worse.  Is teaching judging?  Well no!  Not if what's taught is the estatic love.

I find I get angry, self loath and hate others based on judgment and mostly imagined interaction.  Insanity is a lot of judgment.  Concerned about a reality one percieves of how others percieve them.  For a person with a lot of drama or baggage that is traumatic, it only furthers the trauma.

Even in meditation, mind judges quality and inhibitions.  Vibrations can feel very inhibiting.  Even like torture.  I suppose every moment is new territory and judging is novel.  But it doesn't shed old habits either.  Self seems to snowball habits.

A ego trip of judging experience is very lame if not worse than that.  It's hard to not judge others when I'm so discontent for them not being a good time.  Turn on the tv and it's not even entertaining.  It has far too much power infuencing people on subtle to gross levels to be interesting.

Someone has a job or career?  I'd bet their media psycological responses got them there.  A lot of illusions along the path to their current self.

So I shall focus ineardly more on finding judgment free headspace.  You'd think that wouldn't be work.

Your right my bad for posting that rant :peace:.  Its Just a reflection of myself being stuck on the norms of Churchianity for a long time ago that i left that path(its such corrupt system that it corrupts others aswell) I dont even watch tv now adays because of how empowering it is to the mind, that I find words of wisdom around here of much more of importance.

Great thread! Lot's of good posts here.

Delusion is present in any unskillful mind state.

I was wondering a scenario. When Im at peace with the here & now with no hope - no fear, aint thinking of past nor future, and Im very relaxed. No problem or suffering. Then something catches my attention! And mind split into self and other, subject - object. And that object it made of air. I had to zoom in! for I smelled it accidentaly for it was a stikinking fart... Having a made a judgement, I have reacted to it. And decided I really dont like it. Its really the start of the problem, because I dont like the smell - leads to I dont want the fucking smell. If we don't want it, but can't keep it away, again we suffer from the Fart.

How can we prevent the arising of delusion to maintain serenity in that case?

:peace:  :peace:  :peace:  :peace:  :heartpump:

Being aware of delusion is not suffering. Practice is not about trying to eradicate any aspect of our experience, but see it for what it truly is, without the distorting filter of aversion.

Quite a paradigm.

Without judgement, we couldn't conclude that 'judgement is the worst'

....nor could I stand to correct the hypothesis.

Judgement is thoroughly necessary to facilitate decision making.

The important aspect is our response to judgement in an effort to circumvent the anger which you've touched upon.

Anger is what feeds the mad dog.

Through a certain level of understanding and steadfastness, negative people and situations can be seen with clarity and simple pity with anger and insecurities being a literal causes of those aspects.

Often at the heart of it, things are the way they are because no-one knows who, are indeed what they are, in this blind adventure we've labelled 'life'.

We need to judge always, yet disassociate ourselves from the destructive responses it can yield, lest we stand as fire amidst the fire - lost amongst the lost, in a judgemental circle which yields only destruction.

A judgemental, aware mind which yields productive insight to deliver a productive response, is the shining 'light' in the chaos...

My teacher always uses the analogy of a computer: The computer is a great tool that is really useful and can get things done for you, but you wouldn’t want it running your entire life...!

Awareness should be using judgement as a tool, but as it is, more often than not, judgement is telling awareness exactly where to look and what to think.

Depends.  Seems there are a lot of consequences to judgments.  During meditation and the daily observance of being mindful we become reactive to judgments.  These are wrong judgments, subtle to gross delusions.  Allusions.

Yep that’s my point, at this moment, we are not in charge of the computer. The mind is making judgments and we react to them. Anywhere there is a reaction like this, the awareness is not in control. We have to get to the point where awareness has taken back the helm and has become completely unreactive to the judgemental mind, and instead can begin to direct the intellectual faculties without any underlying bias or delusions. From this space, whatever judgements we make will be pure and for the benefit of others.

Good, relevant, analogy.

As part of my job; I've literally discussed recently how rewarding it is to use the computer as a tool, rather than a screen that's simply dictating or 'filling a void'.

I wouldn't regard there to be such thing as a 'wrong judgement'.

Only a negative, destructive response of having processed through means of that faculty.

Therefore, the outcome of judgement is fundamentally different from the process itself; Processor and that which has been processed.

Since we are in a state of judgement in every given moment, it's important to moderate those responses and we do this naturally by the general paradigm or 'program' that we adopt.

Great conversation. From the way i gasp it, is that focus on being the judge of my own thoughts, being in that space of an observer of my own mind & being aware of my thought process is important.

Rather judge the fart of its smell & its source, is judge that thought instead, what if the fart was mine?
Its a form of mutual understanding between persons without uttered word.

We need to find chair in the mind to judge the judge.

The activity of judging others and ourselves is a contracted narrow non-liberated unwholesome mind state. Judging involves viewing experience thru the distorting lens of aversion. Can we see things as they are without adding judgment? Is that the road to freedom?
