I think trying to stop the entire world from polluting is dumb and irresponsible.

The world will never agree on one policy and the destruction is inevitable. So why waste money on green deals when we could spend money learning how to survive in conditions that will inevitably occur on Earth. Also stop wasting time going to Mars and learn how to live on our own barren planet to be.

Meh, I've chosen not to have kids, and I don't expect to live a natural lifespan myself. Recent analyses by that one Australian group says half the world should starve to death by like, 2060-2070.

I'm trying to earn enough money to be considered a "high value" individual by then to make survival easier. Shouldn't be too hard, if I keep my current savings rate I could probably clear a few mil by then, before investment income.

A few decades until the results. People aren't gonna sit by and wait to cook, there's gonna be a lot more migration, followed by violence, and as the article mentions, a not-unlikely possibility of nuclear exchanges between states trying to close their borders and states that have a high proportion of fleeing people.

We already see the beginnings of that now. Migration is up. Once lush places are becoming desert and burning up. Over the next few decades, everything is going to get a whole lot worse, progressively.

I'm not sure what perspective they'd get better from. Even from the perspective of some gun crazy prepper that has a compound and really wants to shoot brown people...That's not gonna last for very long.

Maybe if you're actively suicidal, but in that case there are much more effective ways to "make things better".

Well, I don't think the planet gives a shit one way or another.  The extinction (or mass depopulation) of humans seems like a net positive for the planet, though.  I think this is all good news, actually.

The planet is a massive recycling center. Everything we leave behind will
slowly slip into the subduction zone of a continental shelf and will slowly
come out again as new earth. A brand spankin new planet in a couple billion years.

It's exactly the opposite.  It's like promoting peaceful issues in the world.  It's exactly smart and responsible.  Is it likely to succeed?  No, not 100%, but it's the CORRECT effort.

Then do something that will succeed. Learn to sustain on a deteriorating earth.

Wasting money to save it, as you said, is no guarantee and a dangerous gamble.

I would rather err on the side of learning how to survive on our planet as it dies.

I can't wait until after 12 years go by and the lefties make a new doomsday date or date that requires tax money to make it to.

California should be the first state to lead by example. Ban cars and airplanes.
