Led Strip 6500 White light

anyone use Led strip lighting for shoe box? I have 2 small shoe boxes I need to light up. I keep them in a smaller area. Can I use that or is something better maybe just a small light

I thought LEDs doesn't give the correct spectrum off. I read that a few times on different threads. I use 6500k fluorescence, but sunlight works as well.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

LED lights can work just fine. I use 2835 Daylight white strips. Anything bigger than those starts to get pretty bright and hot so be careful. I don't know why everyone doesn't use LED strips they are so convenient and easy. I actually light my whole room with them (5630 strips for the main room lights, they are brighter)

Idk why people are so anal about specific lighting's.

They're mushrooms. Give them some light to lead direction.

Works just fine, but it's VERY weak light, so you'll need to put it closer than you think. Like within 12" or so. I use 6500k white led strips for mine, but if you move them too far away the mushies get lost.

Nah it's not that weak depending on the chipset in the strips and if you have them wired up right. They can be bright as fuck. My 2835 are mounted pretty close like 18", but they are easy to light an individual shelves with each shelf getting a lot of light. Those 5630 strips are crazy bright I use them on the ceiling to light the room.

The ones I have barely registered on my light meter when I tested them. Even when the light meter was basically touching them. They throw off light yes, but plants don't have eyes and aren't seeing anything. The intensity of the light is what the plant "sees", and often with led strips it's very low. You can test this with even the cheapest light meter and see for yourself.

There are more powerful leds out there, but it's unlikely people are buying them in strips or for growing purposes. It's honestly kinda tricky to get enough power out of LEDs for plant growth. And you don't even need as much as plants for mushrooms, but still, those LEDs I have would light a room fine for any human, but mushrooms would likely stretch towards distant windows in that same bright as fuck room.

They work just fine no stretching lol. Those aren't what we are talking about anyway, we are talking about LED strips who knows what's in those tubes. And mushrooms arent plants.

Those "tubes" are literally just an led strip in them with a very thin plastic shield over them. It was frustrating to learn about this purchase not being what it was sold as, so yeah :frown:

Christmas lights work fine so Im sure your high dollar cool blue fluorescent will work fine. People use battery powered LEDs with no problems. They aren't cannabis plants.
