ID Request Nsw

Hey Peeps,

Stumbled across these today and I’m pretty confident they are subs, but would appreciate an ID from you experts. If they are active, this would be my first find so Stoke levels are pretty high at the moment.

Habitat:
Found within 5 metres of a small creek in Northern NSW Hinterland amongst decaying wood. We’re growing amongst a large patch of Mycelium around 1ft x 1ft

Gills:
Kind of cream colour on fresher specimen, but quite dark brown on older larger specimens

Stem:
All between 2-4cm in length, fibrous and white about 4mm in diameter with visible blue/purple bruising along length of stem at base and under cap

Cap:
Diameter between 1-3cm, caramel/ brown colour on fresh specimen, older specimen with wavy upturned caps

Spore print color:
Doing as we speak

Bruising:
Distinct blue/purple ink coloured bruising on stems and caps

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom smelt like store bought ones I guess

Dry them to a cracker state, keep them in a sealed container or jar with a bag of silica gel.

Cheers Anglerfish,

I have read on this site that the ol fridge works ok in a plastic container. I don’t have dehydrator or oven option in caravan, so Will fridge suffice?

Im thinking fresh specimens will stay ideal for up to 30 days wrapped in Paper Towels, in the fridge.

If you can keep consistent air movement on them from a fan for 24-48 hours, you can dry them that way without a dehydrator.

You can keep fresh mushrooms in the fridge for up to a week, according to most sources.
Keep them in a paper bag, never in plastic as the excess humidity will make them decay pretty fast.

I would definitely dry them, and as mentioned you won't need a dehydrator.
You could cut the larger specimens in halves to speed the drying process, too.
Just try to keep them out of direct sunlight, as it apparently affects the tryptamine content.
