hmm, this involves math. if you want a really great, long-lasting trip, i suggest you eat 4-5 grams (dried). now, you've got fresh shrooms and 90% of the weight there is going to be water. so i would assume that you'd want to take somewhere between 35-45 grams (wet). however, math was never a strong point for me so i'd need someone to verify my reccomendation.

i belive that dryin them is a must but there are times when one has fresh ones so what i would do is. make ElEcTrIc KoOl-AiD just find a small boiling pot like old folks use for coffe or to make raman noodles. after you chop em up with a knife throw them in the pot with just enough to cover and lightly boil. for like 20 mins. (cant nobody tell me shit about heat an alkoloids, really, i dont hear that bullshit) then when the waters brown, strain it an mix your brown water with grape kool-aid.

ive only measured this recipe once and it was gulf coast picked wild and about 65 medium sized shrooms and boiled on high for 20 mins, down to 12 fl oz of brown gooey water, mixed with one quart if grape, sent four people off good with 1/3 of a cup of the mix. had enouh for more than one of those cups though

You don't have to dry mushrooms, in fact I prefer fresh shrooms.

You can use a 10:1 ratio for your fresh shrooms (it's close enough), that is for every 10 grams of fresh shrooms you get 1 gram dried. So you have around 10g dried shrooms.

A eighth is 3.5 grams and that's a pretty concentual dosage around here to start with (unless you weigh like 90 pounds), so you'll get a little more than 3 eights or 3 doses out of that.

It will take the average person to a mid 2nd level trip to a mid 3rd level trip (YMWV) and the "average" being a level 3 trip.

I would like to say:
Just be in a good atmosphere with good friends and a good attitude with some good tunes and other "good" things (I love freezy-pops and lots of COLD water to drink). The more comfortable an atmosphere and attitude that you have can lend to your trip being led toward a more "happy" direction.

hmm, maybe my estimation was a bit off. 4-5 grams (dried) would be a little excessive i suppose. however, i can't really see eating mushrooms fresh. i mean besides the fact that i can't stand the taste of them already, i'd have to consume 35g of fresh mushrooms to get the same effect as that of 3.5g dried. has anyone here actually eaten 35g of mushrooms and not puked? if so, my hats off to you...

Sure I've done it (with friends as well) on several occasions. I imagine a lot of other people here have as well.

The way I like to do it is grind em up in a blender with some OJ and drink the resulting, frothy concoction.

Dont the magic mushrooms taste the same as most other mushrooms? Liek the fresh ones you buy in the store? Those things taste good, I love mushrooms! Everyone always says magic shrooms taste liek shit. Is that just because they dont liek the taste of mushrooms?

Actually Sutec thats what we did. We ground a whole 1/4 pound of fresh cubies in OJ concentrate with no water, and split it among 5 people. I would say i was at a level 2. I was a little dissapointed, cuz Iv been looking forward to approching 5. Look for my trip report on it, it was actually pretty cool!

I second the blending fresh cubies in OJ motion. The taste is quite pleasant. My friend tried that without measuring first on his first trip (a big mistake) as he soon found himself in another world. He would now estimate that he ate 40 to 50 grams fresh, a little heavy for a first trip. He ate about 6 medium sized (about 4 inches tall) ecuadorians. On his next trip, he ate 3.0 grams dry and found it to be more manageable. There was extreme visual enhancement (ie stuff moving and breathing and patterning, etc.), but no overt and realistic hallucinations. It was a very positive experience overall, but now he is planning on stepping back up to a higher dose to increase the experience.

I just wanted to say that a 1st dose should be small. What people don't realize is that the 'level of the trip' doesn't necessarily coincide with how much fun you have.

I've had the greatest trips on 1g of mushrooms. It depends on the setting who you're with, etc...

I had a level 3 once after consuming 2.5g only and it was quite the experience, but not as 'ha ha funny' as my level 1 trips. The level 3 was crazy and intense (for me), and it's something I wouldn't have wanted to do my very 1st time.

I'd go for level 1 the 1st time: 1.5g of dried shrooms. I think this is the best dose. If you are really big (like over 200lbs), then maybe 2g, although I think with shrooms the size of the person doesn't really matter too much.

1.5g is certainly enough to feel it. And it's going to be strong than the 1.5g you buy from a dealer too, because you've grown it, AND you've dried it out and stored it properly.

BTW, 1/4 lb of fresh mushrooms is about 125g. Divide that by 5 people, and you have 25g each. Divide that by 10 (to simulate dry), and that's 2.5g.

Your dose would have been 2.5g, not enough to bring to level 5. That's a level 2-3 for some. 2.5g is enough to blow me away :smile:

I agree that 4-5 grams dried for a first time (or any time, for that matter) could potentially be *way* too much. I'd say 2 grams would be perfect to have an awesome time. But everyone reacts slightly differently... (which makes it wise to start low and work your way up on later trips)

MuffinBear-- mushrooms DO taste bad... much worse than the grocery store variety (I love the taste of normal mushrooms). But fresh shrooms actually don't taste too bad... it's the dried shrooms that are nasty. So if you have the chance, eat them fresh.
