how long can fresh shroomz be preserved?

How long can I kept fresh mushrooms at ambient temperature??? Without too many loss of potency. I haeard that 4-5 medium sized shrroms was equivalent to 1 gram fresh... Is that true?? Thanx !!!! Psylo33

Stick them in the fridge or freezer, it will hold them longer.
"I haeard that 4-5 medium sized shrroms was equivalent to 1 gram fresh" Im not quite sure what your trying to say, but 4-5 medium sized fresh shrooms weigh way more than 1 gram. And depending on drying procedures 4-5 dried should be more exciting than 1gram fresh, considering fresh is mostly water.

Mushrooms will keep about 1 week in the fridge...if you put them in a paper product,,,,cardboard a paper bag or in some newspaper. They will rot in or on a non-moisture absorbing material. As for 4-5wet being equivilant to 1 dry, I don't know what you mean sorry, but a mushroom is a mushroom dry or wet, may look bigger and feel heavier, but it's the same. If you usually eat 1/4dry of 10 nice sized mushroomes you will need 10 extremely large looking fresh mushrooms which sounds rough, but fresh in my opinion are very easy to eat...But yes keep them fresh in the fridge..in paper...

hum... Thing is, I can't really put them in fridge, what would parents say??? When I ment "4-5 fresh = 1 gram dry", I ment about the dosage and level of trip. I was thinkin about keeping them in honey...
