yeah paper bag in the fridge for up to 3-4 days is is long as they will last

You can seal them in a zip-lock bag and they'll keep in the vegetable bin for up to 10 days.

But WHY????

Jusy dry them cracker dry, they'll keep for YEARS.

and I rather EAT them FRESH .its kinda like beef jerky and it hits ME A whole lot faster then dry!i can literally feel tingles in the back of My head asoon as i eat them which ASSURES Me a NIce visual triP !the brain never LIES!

do you have a link to these "FACTS"?? the only reduction you should get from drying is in weight...

I'd always wondered about this as well, Tilia makes a food-saver vacum sealer that boasts it can preserve food for I beleive 3-5 times longer if refridgerated and ALOT longer if frozen, so if you seal the fresh mushrooms with it and then freeze them, in theory (my theory, no clue if it works, most people have said they it probably wouldn't but they were all unsure why, someone just has to try it I suppose) it works and you could probably have fresh mushrooms for atleast a few months although I'm not so sure how they'd be (mushy) after thawing them, but hey just refridging could get you a few weeks

Refridgerating mushrooms doesn't work. When defrosted they turn into black goo. Really, try drying them. It's proven technology!

How about storing them in honey? I hear this is how some expensive gourmet mushrooms are preserved.

This is an EXCELLENT question. I *despise* eating dry mushrooms. I would rather not trip than choke down an eighth or more of dry mushrooms. If there is a way to preserve them wet I would be all about that.

5 shrooms for you, and calling him a stupid fuck does not contribute at all. Surely you must realize that SOME potency is lost by drying, no matter how miniscule it may be?

I prefer to eat mine fresh. Takes alot less time I think. Flame on if you want, but thats just me. I haven't found a way to store them except for Sam Kohui"s stomach tek.

I agree. Fresh taste so much better than dry. Of course drying has its purpose - storing the ones you can't eat but the original posting is ligit. They taste awful dry and mixing them with sweets dimishes their affects.

Mixing them with sweets does not diminish there effects. If they are dried properly any loss in potency is not noticeable, and it sure as hell is not 4 times as weak. WTF?

dry them, grind them into a powder, the pour about 3.5 grams into a cup of orange juice, stir and chug. you'll barley if not at all notice the taste or that you are even taking shrooms. onset in 10 - 15 minutes compared to 30 min - 1 hour eating fresh.
