If you aren't handy with some tools then it's a fair option. If you have some coin then I would look at a real flowhood like a Baker EdgeGard hood or a Nuaire hood though. They'll run ya $3-$6k though depending on size.

Pricier than what? It's pricier than DIY the thing sure. But it is the cheapest fully put together brand new flowhood you can buy as far as I am aware besides maybe that Chinese one you can get on ebay. But not everyone can DIY a flowhood or wants to DIY.

They work. I was going to spend the same on self build (grated it was going to be larger) than I did for the small FH from FP.

Waste of money IMO. For the price you can buy all the materials and most of the tools you need.

A $3,000 work bench? That's not necessary at all. It can all be done with a circular saw and maybe some sandpaper.

I've had the pleasure of owning 2 different Baker EdgeGards over the years, a big 2.5'x4' and a smaller 2'x2' unit. They are glorious. I have owned/built several DIY hoods over the years too and the real deal hoods are just so much nicer and more convenient to work in. It's worth the coin if you have it.

Unregistered: I am sure they are available internationally, email them to see if there is a distributor near you. Then you email the distributor and go from there.

It's much cheaper to build a diy hood obviously, people...Especially when your time is worthless, right?

I should note that I didn't pay $6k for brand new EdgeGards, I got them both on ebay at different times for really cheap used. I got one for only about $300 after freight shipping lol. Buy low sell high kinda deal for me. But I wouldn't hesitate for 1 minute to buy a brand spanking new $5.5k EdgeGard model 4252. It keeps me up at night pining for that fresh new hood scent. That beep beep sound as the semi trailer backs up in your drive. Mmmmmmmmmmffffff.
