Maybe it's just me but I prefer my sobriety over any drug :lol:

If you're using psychedelics often(tripping doses) you may want to ask yourself if you're being a bit of an escapist. Are you really gaining valuable life lessons, and applying them to your life? Or just diving back in over and over again on a repeating loop. I would rather have a stable mind, focusing on my reality, life and career, rather than wandering off in other worlds frequently.

But that's just me, I don't prefer to abuse the medicine, I get what I need from it and come back when it calls, which is very far and few between, everyone's different though

I’m the same.  I do get somewhat nostalgic when I see homies tripping their asses off and having the time of their lives, though.  I remember those days and miss the childlike fun of it all.  These days I can’t even smoke weed without difficult thoughts/feelings.

I feel the same way, but also the opposite way at times.

A sober brain is just as capable of escaping reality as an intoxicated one.

Any time I trip hard, I see the extent that I've hidden from reality by getting stuck in ruts and rigid thought patterns that are attempts to ease any suffering.

I don't trip more often because of how difficult these doses of the reality that I normally hide from are to receive.

I was over it for a while.

I want to get back into it again. I messed up my last grow attempt (it was only my second attempt). Then took a break for a few months.

I have some cakes in a humidity chamber that I hope will produce something. We'll see.

My sober mind and my tripping mind are very similar.  I like them both equally.

But then I've tripped a huge amount over many decades (with breaks as long as a decade) to get there and I don't expect to ever be "finished", because what I'm doing now is deliberate research based on what I discovered mostly by experimentation early on.  :awesomenod: 

I think if you think you've learned everything you can from psychedelics you haven't actually learned anything.  :aliceshocker:

Yeah I don't necessarily think you can "escape" reality with psychedelics anyway, it more so(at least in my experience) brings you closer to the actual reality. But that may all depend on your intentions, I never fully understood what benefit one would receive tripping so often, rather than just mentally jerking off(it seems like a waste of time to me if I'm not gaining/learning anything) but there's so many different possibilities, the good thing is they're not physically dangerous or addictive :lol:

You'll land back here on the ground eventually.

Maybe it's because I don't enjoy tripping, I view it as serious inner work, and could never view it as something to do for "fun" even when I have tried to trip for fun in the past, it ends up being serious.

I think that is the key there. I always found it really enjoyable.

I also think that the more often you do it, the less meaningful the experience is. You don't really learn anything new about yourself. If that is your goal, it could easily become disappointing. 

Somehow, It can still be a good way to unwind if it isn't abused too frequently.

If you are trying to reach new levels all of the time, I think that can lead to problems in a hurry.

At 21 I was taking acid every weekend. Now I’m 35 and I might take half a hit once every couple years. Same for mushrooms, but I’ve always preferred acid. Tripping is taxing and takes a lot of commitment. It’s easy when you’re in your prime but still young and fearless. When your eminent mortality becomes an ongoing theme in your life you don’t really wanna keep going through trip after trip analyzing yourself under a microscope. I’ve gotten the message! I’m going to die and it’s going to be fantastically terrifying and there’s nothing I can do about it except wait. I’m trying to mostly just relax and enjoy it as much as possible still, without all the dramatic psychedelic emotional crises. I just want to enjoy my weed in peace

Might take a hit of acid this summer though sounds like it could be fun if I can get into the right mindset


I get it, loud and clear..

Time to get out of the simulator and really fly your plane...:thumbup:

A small small reminder every couple years when things get grainy is nice.:sip:

All preference then I guess, I prefer to keep them the most meaningful and life changing experiences, I wouldn't want to lose that - so when I'm really at a stuck point in life, I can take them and they will show me a way through and have the most impact. I have too much respect to use them any other way.

I've never found it enjoyable or a way to unwind like say cannabis with a tolerance, the come up anxiety, the potential of trips going south, amplified negative emotions, the general unknown of being in a very heightened sensitive state and something unnerving popping up, it's not worth the gamble for me risking traumatic experiences, like I've had in the past. As much as they can help heal PTSD they can also cause it(positively and negatively) every experience is traumatic for me, in the sense I need a long time to recover and ground, adapt and work on the newfound knowledge/self

After years of shrooming I recently experienced dmt and I doubt Im ever going back, maybe Ill go out for some hunting in the coming season, but IMO I dont like the way mushrooms change the way you think, the body loads can sometimes be awful, and the trips last hours even with tea, dmt is superior in all these categories and more. I have yet to experience any other psychedelic. But for now Im pretty fine and dandy with freebase crystal and kush cookies.

In my sober life, I feel like I’m already pretty far “out there” compared to normal 9-5 society.  Since my job is somewhat professional oriented, I have to be able to reel it in as needed.  Tripping definitely opens up my thinking to some wild possibilities, which I love, but integrating it into my current lifestyle is tough.

Dmt is like a smoking an ounce of shrooms, but you can think straight and its over in 5 minutes, its a direct step up from any other psych, its also out of your system within minutes, you can smoke before a test and they wont find shit so im told, you can also extract over a years supply within a day using nothing but kitchen supplies found on ebay, im in the uk so the bark is also on ebay lol. :shrug:

Don’t overlook the oral route.  The cool thing about maoi is that it introduces different ranges into the whole thing, for both.

Ive been growing and triping for the last 7 years and im preaty much done tripping
Ive got pounds sitting around
I still like growing them but the trip has lost its luster to me

I had tripped some in my late teens, early twenties, and took a break with very few trips until my mid thirties, and love tripping now more than ever.  I am with eclipse on that I like my sobriety, I prefer it and don’t want to lose or escape it.  What I like is the different perspective I feel when tripping a different view of my life and my relationships.  Not that I take big trips all the time, but when I do, I like to look at my hands, and see the new scars, or blisters, or whatever time has added to them.  Only time will tell, but i picture tripping through raising children and growing old.

If you get rid of everything you have, I bet there’s a chance that over the course of a few years the urge may come back in a ‘for old times sake’..  maybe.  It’s not a reach for me to believe some people just get it all out of their system and don’t feel the need or maybe take a light refresher dose every couple of years.  I don’t think there’s any one way to go at it.  I looooooved salvia but much past 2011 you couldn’t pay me to do it...:nojustno:

I struggled with that for quite a while but eventually modified my life and my professional work to more or less combine the two. 

If you work at it there are lots of ways to make a living while staying trippy. :cookiemonster:

I work in retail/sales. Shrooms give me insights into how to manipulate people(sales).

All you gotta do is plant ideas and wait for the chedda to flow.
