How do you subtly put people in their place? * 1
    #25950427 -

I deal with some irritating coworkers, the type to constantly make little comments/criticisms with a frequency that warrants a response.

The thing is is that I'm not really good at "playing it off" or saying shit back in a way that doesn't seem to personal/direct ya know? So I just let it all slide but their shit is getting on my nerves and I want to say some shit back.

Not really sure how to go about it.

For example there's a special needs coworker who's like king of the tards because his iq is probably only 1 away from triple digits, but he always fucking just stares at me, mouth gaping and goes "are you alright??"

Do I just say "yes and you can stop asking whenever you feel like", or would that be too aggro? I kinda wanna do it in that playful way that other people are good at if you know what I'm talking about.

I can give more examples if yall want, there's like 3 irritating people in total that I work with all the time.

You could respond reasonably and say "Yes, I'm allright. I appreciate you checking in all the time, but there is no need to do so because I will let you know if any issues arise."

If the guy is intellectually disabled, I wouldn’t take his “are you alright” as some kind of affront.  People with limited thought capacity may have limited conversation skills, and it could be that that’s the only thing he can think of to say to initiate a discussion.  I’m not sure why you feel that he needs to be “put in [his] place” for asking if you’re alright.

nah he knows what he's doing, he's just low iq from habitual mouth breathing, he just stops and stares at me like trying to put me on the spot

he's not down's syndrome I think he just had low brain oxygen from chronic mouthbreathing during youth which lead to lower intelligence. That's my take.

I've already told him I'm fine the last several times he's asked, he's just trying to assert dominance because he takes his job so seriously

but I see where this thread is going I'm just gonna ignore condescending people because there's so many of you on this forum

Has he started aggressively humping you or trying to take a piss on your leg? That's how you know you're in trouble.

In all seriousness OP it sounds like you're overreacting to something that seems pretty benign

Dogs assert dominance by humping. Try that.

Op. You soundnlike a fucking crotch munch. Mouth breathing has nothing to do with IQ. Have you tried simply asking the special needs person, or telling him rather that you dont like to be interrupted during your tasks at work? What job do you do? I deal with ppl at my job calling me racist and resent the fact Im an employee with them because I outwork those poor bastards. I work hard it's what I do.

Seriously OP. Good luck.

I know people who are like this

I know where op is coming from.

To me it's just a childish form of attention seeking and if you are actually real with them they'll tune you out.

It's better than him wanting to be your friend. Imagine that hellish reality for a second.

Im gunna need more examples.....

Also your statement is paradoxial. How can his IQ be one short of triple digits (which is a high score) and have special needs mental ability?
