Those of you that have quit a serious addiction do you
    #25948284 -

Do you still crave the drug after quiting? It has to have been a year since I stopped smoking meth and I still miss it just about every day. Is that normal? Does that mean I haven't kicked it?

Only hope can give rise to the emotion we call despair. But it is nearly impossible for a man to try to live without hope, so I guess that leaves Man no choice but to walk around with despair as his companion.

You can never truly kick anything you love so much, and you'll never even kick the days before it began
It's entirely normal
Let's say, once a thief always a thief even if you don't mean it reflecting back on those good times is really where the addiction lies, not the addiction itself. Although that is how an addiction becomes one
Kicking an addiction is looking back on it rather than looking forward
You aren't necessarily looking forward or dreaming about the day you'll have it again but the days gone by, and that you want it in that present moment moreso than looking forward to a future of it
True love is never truly kicked, it is the days gone by of it
And looking at the goodness can hurt the most
So you just want it to feel good again
But you'll look at it later the same way, back on this present moment and presently want it again from the last reflection
Everything is always inducing in this sense, so it makes everything extremely hard
But it is not to make you worry that you have a problem, because if you can know this
You also know you aren't looking forward to it in the future but only wanting it now because of the past
So yes this will be reoccurring in the future but it is nothing more than that
Maybe it will happen again one day against your own will as in offered to you by another
But you can either deny it, to look back on the good thing in which you denied that will make you become stronger in the end to look back on that present moment to where you denied that which makes you feel alive
Now I don't know how I could ever deny very specific pills, but I am not looking into the future of the day that I will deny or accept it
But in the present moment to think of what it is to me within my past memories of absolute bliss I just want it now. But I cant have it nor do I seek it out because I haven't the means
If you have the means in the present moment, the process of the past repeats within the present of a binge until it is gone again
Than you will look back again, and again, and want it again and again. And that is addiction
The past of pleasant times but nothing to fear if you've always had this handle, and have known this
And that a binge can end without death being aware of these things
But yes, it always has, and presently will be.

I quit my opiate addiction cold turkey for a year and a half and craving mixed with "I won't do much" and I wanted to test the effects of different drugs whilst drawing and I dosed morphine and hydromorphone heavily.

Haven't been clean since" 5 years later" although I'm intentionally at an extremely negligible dose of hydromorphone but I still have terrible w\ds and it's very very hard to ever get clean. Going back can happen to anyone in an instant no matter how much time clean you have. It really does often take one bad relapse to keep you addicted for decades longer.

If you actually have pain it's even harder to kick it for good, kratom is okay but I get sick from kratom often, pot is better but still doesn't help deep pain and it doesn't do the same thing as opies. For now that is my hellish burden.

So it doesn't go away? I guess that's a person to person thing. I didn't even quit voluntarily.

Just as I said, it is forced to be opressed if you do not have the means to have it
Which can be many ways, not the money, connections, or other variations of things that deplete your source to be forced to quit.. but if it is never voluntary in these ways in which you do not have the will to stop dead in your tracks while you have the resources
You are still addicted and when you do have it again or have the means to retrieve it you will in the next present moment that you are able to
It feels like you quit but holding onto the past of it daily means that you have not
And if you were able to rejoice in those moments you would the very second you can

And besides, it is a part of your life now
Not that you should be guilty of it given that fact
there's still time to change the road youre on always remember that
If you can voluntarily put yourself down an involuntary path you will always be one step ahead although what you love will walk closely behind you
The past will always follow just as it is your present if it can push you onward your mistakes can lead you
And at that they aren't technically mistakes
What is to be will be
This is the first steps of training how to live in a life that can change at any time because of free will
Well your will is free, and so change it again.

That’s a personal thing unique to each head but I will say when you start to see it from an outside perspective it makes the initial appeal fade away.  When you’re in the middle of it you’re probably not seeing it right.  Some people get away with ease, some people are gonna struggle forever and some people lose..

The trick is getting a legit enough batch of consequences to counter the appeal of the bait, but not so much it kills someone.

Technically, you convoluted what I just said.  Mine was simple, sweet and to the point.  Yours was wordy.

For me cravings bothered me heavily for about a year and then faded still with occasional dreams where I'm getting high and the like for a couple of years after that. Last dream was 5 years after I stopped.

I could still so easily go back, I just never will. Don't want to go through that again.

come back in like 4 years n see how u feel. Meth does a number on your brain but the only way to get better is to not smoke more meth. It takes like good for years to heal ur brain like that.

Nah if you’re still thinking about it five years later you did it wrong.

What made/makes me forget drugs, and stop having any thoughts that made me want to use drugs is being healthy, strong, microdosing LSD, and smoking cannabis.

I would take around 50mcg LSD and that would be just enough to increase brain activity to a level which allowed me to completely stop having any negative thoughts, and I would only need 1 or 2 hits of cannabis in the pipe, which would have some kind of synergistic effect that allowed the benefits or positive effects of the LSD to be increased.

I was able to start working out again, which made me eat a lot more, which made me feel fantastic overall. I didn't even think about other drugs. I would purposely think about drugs while working out just to test myself and I felt absolutely no tendency or desire to use any harmful or addictive drugs at all, not even caffeine or nicotine. It was literally like magic, or a miracle, and I was occasionally smoking meth, smoking heroin, vaping nicotine, and drinking instant coffee.

I believe that the combination of these 4 things (Health, strength, cannabis, and LSD) is the solution to my problems, and it could possibly be the solution to your problems as well. Hope I have helped someone.

Well thanks for talking to me about this everyone. I guess only time will tell if I ever stop craving those crystals. I honestly still don't know if I could say no to someone who offered it to me but luckily that hasn't happened in a long time.

What do you mean it's my fault it wont go away? Could you perhaps offer some constructive advice instead of vaguely criticizing me?

I'm definitely seeing a theme of people talking about replacing unhealthy habits with healthy ones. I like the way that sounds
