How do you feel about transgenders and sex change?
    #25861407 -

This seem to be growing and growing and is almost an every day thing.

How do you feel about it? What are your thought?

No bash. Respecticful conversate.

It does not bother me. If you do not directly disrupt my life or family then I do not care what you do with your life and body.

I also understand that this was discussed awhile back, but no dedicated thread.

I do have 1 issue.

The bathrooms.

If your  birth certificate says Male than use Male bathroom or vice versa.

Let's say guy gets surgery and is now girl. This new girl still like girls. Now you have guy as girl in girl bathroom pervin out.

Well I'm transgendered and I like myself, so there. I think traditional gender norms and structures are the most horrible form of oppression. To look at a persons body and decide based on physical characteristics, every thing about them, with no regard to who they are as an individual is cruel and moronic. You can't tell me how to feel, or think, or dress or act, only I know who I am and what's right for me. I understand that sex is a biological concept, based on a number of characteristics, but many of those can be overcome, and are worth overcoming if you feel that's what's right for you. Gender is a fake concept in general, used to divide and control people.

I grew up being told how to look, what thoughts I'm allowed to have, what feelings I'm allowed to have, what I'm allowed to call myself. I won't ever forget or forgive any of it.

Our traditional gender norms and structures are not present in many cultures, they are not natural, they are the byproduct of monotheistic religion which is a fucking cancer on this planet that deserves no quarter.

People's hatred of trans identities comes from the same place as racism. You want to be able to look at people and draw conclusions about them, dictate their identity to them, rank them, asign them value. You want the world to be simple, black and white, and easy to understand. That's not reality at all. There are extreme variations between different people, places, and situations in the world. Complexity is at the heart of everything.

Gender is not fake concept. You may feel and think like girl, but you do not actually have inner workings of girl. You are only assuming.

That is great that you are proud and not ashamed, but saying gender is some sort of controlling issue is a little much.

What about lesbians?

People who want to commit rape in a bathroom are not going to care about a sign on a door.

I use the mens bathroom because I don't want to make other women uncomfortable, and I have been shoved, photographed, screamed at, laughed at and threatened.

I don't blame trans people for using the bathroom that makes them feel safe. I don't even blame a cis male for using the womens room if it's there only option. Releaving yourself is a human right and no one should ever shit their pants because of a sign on a door.

I’ve posted this before. My mom telling a story about when she played in the US open (tennis) and one of the other players was Rene Richards, a formerly male player now playing in the women’s.

You are conflating sex with gender. Sex is a real concept. Gender is a social construct.

Well, it is an every day thing for those going through it
depending on your lifestyle and location how commonly encountered such individuals are may not be an every day thing tho
but damned if I ain't tryin'

thoughts are evolving on the issue
less than a decade ago, was not really -aware- transitioning is a thing
thought the world was simply made up of hermaphrodites in small number and cis people in large number
and thought that Thai ladyboys were just hermaphrodites who find it easiest to be women in a social sphere
but also daily wanted to die on the vague hope of getting another chance born as a woman
and figured that was a common way to feel

transwoman make sense to me, and are relatable except when they get really nuanced into identity stuff
but penises kinda freak me out, and as such have no real interest in dating another transwoman
despite being able to relate and share some degree of personal experiences in friendship

transmen don't make sense to me
in my mind, no sane person, cis or trans, should actively desire to be assigned male
cis men having a resigned acceptance of their body makes a degree of sense
but it only makes sense to me that women actively find their own body, and subsequently experience of being in the world, to be beautiful, comfortable, and desirable
but respect that transmen are transitioning into such a hostile and competitive environment as manhood
even if they were not physically born with balls, it certainly takes some to hike up your boxers and engage with a community of general one-upsmanship and stifled emotions

non-binary individuals are confusing but cool to me
my identity as a woman on a subconscious train of thought level is so persistent that it makes sense to me and a feeling of comfort comes with being referred to as female
the whole concept of being at a sort of in-between or all encompassing state gives my head a spin
people who can straddle that space comfortably sort of make me think of shamans straddling the spiritual and mundane realms

sex change operations/gender confirmation surgery as a surgical intervention makes sense to me
it does not strike me as something anyone would seek to undergo without strong motivation
despite my sentiment that cis men 'shouldn't' find being men to be a desirable state, men do generally seem to love having a dick

but do find it incredibly disturbing that a place like Iran utilizes coerced sex changes as a method of making homosexual men socially acceptable
that does not strike me as being embedded in an understanding of either transpeople or homosexuals
and, instead, is embedded in a resentment of the latter, with the former simply being a bregrudgingly accepted state as a course of convenience in getting rid of homosexuality

Bathrooms should have stalls with proper doors anyway. Other than that, the only bathroom activities that can be seen from the shared area are things like hand washing and drying. It's not actually that big a deal when there are multi-stall washrooms for both men and women IME.

Maybe I am not reading it correctly?

1a: a subclass within a grammatical class (such as noun, pronoun, adjective, or verb) of a language that is partly arbitrary but also partly based on distinguishable characteristics (such as shape, social rank, manner of existence, or sex) and that determines agreement with and selection of other words or grammatical forms

Gender can be a linguistic term or a sociological one. The sociological sense is a lot more recent.

Not sure what thats about. Sounds like a defition of gendered pronouns.

Sex is based of concrete physical characteristics. It's given to us by nature. Some of these can be overcome medically, others can't.

Gender is a series of social rules. Men fill these roles, women fill those roles. Men are allowed to look like this, women are allowed to look like that.

Sex is consistant. What it means to be MALE or FEMALE. Is not the same as MAN or WOMAN. sex is the same everywhere you go because it's a product of nature. Gender changes from culture to culture because it is artificial conclusions drawn by people.

I have a penis, and other male body parts. I fill the gender roles of a woman though because that's what works for me. I consider myself a Male woman. If I had hormones and surgery I would consider myself a female woman, but others wouldn't have to agree with me. We dont have to agree with people just to coexist with them.

my issue with bathrooms is that they are too public of a space as is
stalls should be more solidly closed and personal
or lockable single rooms should be available wherever convenient

do not find defecation, urination, or menstruation to be attractive
so the bathroom is not really a place for me to 'perv out'
but generally speaking, my OCD causes me to find the Men's washroom to be more desirable to use
due simply to relative levels of cleanliness across my experiences with the two

would much rather avoid public washrooms tho
due primarily to the aforementioned OCD need for a sense of cleanliness
not just because of fears of abuse for appearing female in a roomful of people who are pervs toward my appearance by virtue of being born with a penis themselves
:cookiemonster:

with my personal input placed
it is worth noting that not all transwomen are transbians
there are transwomen who exclusively date men, and consider themselves heterosexual women
you may label them as homosexual men who had their dicks cut off; not really a debate that is desirable for me to get into
but they would presumably experience no sexual interest in the women's room either

also, 2 say it with memez,
transmen exist too!1

none of these guys could be sexual predators in the women's room either, they were born with vaginas and therefor don't have the pervin' genetics they look like they have;
only people born with a penis can be sexual predators, the feminisms told me so

I think thinking someone who was born biologically and any other -ology a woman is a woman is common sense

Is feeding into this behavior safe?

Are we sure that this isnt some mental disorder that needs attention just like anxiety and depression?

It would be a real disservice to the mentally ill if this went ignored

You can literally call anything a mental illness. The idea that I'm supposed to live some certain way, and limit my emotions and expressions to a certain framework for your comfort at my expense is a mental illness. The desire for money is a mental illness. Religion is a mental illness.

You can do it all day wothout ever really being right or wrong.
