Need help with split caps (issue isn’t lack of humidity)

I noticed that one of the caps were split open on the top. Should I remove this one? Is it still eadible? I think maybe this is due to misting too often and the caps are getting to damp? Any input would be great. Thanks.. also I mixed about 4 table spoons of into the water I soaked my perlite in hydrogen peroxide. There is a mild odor of it inside of the fruiting chamber, should I worry about this at all?

How much do you mist and fan / was this from a kit?

No this is just standard brf cakes I mixed with a little gypsum. I mist/fan 2-4 times a day. The caps are always damp after. (I fan after misting).

Hmmm.... I dont think its really anything to worry about IME cracking caps has always come from a failure to maintain humidity. More pictures may help But as i said, i doubt its anything to worry about.

That is what I’ve gathered from other posts I’ve read. I mist quite a bit, to the point it almost seems like I’m doing it a bit excessively, but I know mushrooms are about 80-90% water. The one that has the cracked top is growing on the bottom and should definitely be exposed to the most moisture. Idk, I guess I’ll see within the next day or so and I’ll post more pics

That’s what I was thinking. Should I worry about removing that one on the bottom with the hole into the top of the cap? I’m just worried about it getting contaminated. Will it be okay to eat still?

Ita funny. In the past, it wasnt enough misting. Now its the opposite issue :strokebeard:

You want it to be moist but not drenched.
