San Pedro Fun
    #2583564 - 04/20/04 05:17 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

The other week I tried a bit of my friend San Pedro. I used the traditional method that south americans have used for thousands of years. This involves cutting and boiling it. So as you see in the pictures below ... The first thing I did was cut the needles out. Then I chopped the cactus up to make it easier to cut the outer green layer off. Which I have been told is where our good friend mescaline spends his time. After which I boiled to a concentrate then drank the liquid  :3rd_eye: and and ate the chips. The liquid was awful but the tripp was worth the pain. If you know any other methods that would be worth a try please tell. I am getting a very large shipment in of peruvian torch cacti in by friday and would like to experiment with them. ~Note to all you government employees this was all done outside of the country and for religous purposes

I'm interested in San Pedro and am probably going to stop by Home Depot or some shit to pick some up soon. I was just wondering, is the light green center the stuff you need to eat? Do you have to take ALL of it out?

the white center wil make u nauseuas if eaten.. the mescaline is in the skin and should be peeled off and boiled. or prepared in another preferable fashion.

Actually the mescaline is distributed throughout the cactus. Directly underneath the skin there is a fairly high concentration. The core also holds a bit, but not enough to make it worth fucking with unless you are doing a large extraction.

When I went to Argentina last year, a friend showed me how to prepare it.
He did exactly what you did , but let the strips dry out on the sun, once dried and hard he pulverizes into granules.
Then you just measure the dosage with a tablespoon.
(He only uses the green strips, the rest for the compost)
I never tried it my self yet but I would imagine, that it will be easier to bring it down your throat that way.
Also a good way to store it in airtight jar.
