old agar dishes

What do you guys do with dished that you keep from doing transfers. I have a wackof them now and some are growing mushrooms on them

U can take those pins as clones. Or if u don't need them just throw them out

Well, it's a clean clone because it was on a plate, so it's alot cleaner than a pin growing on a substrate in open air. And I guess it's kinda a theory that it's an easy fruiting strain because it was able to fruit with minimal nutrients. But Idk if that's actually true or not. Or why it would matter anyway.

Until after you grow it out you'll never know for sure ahead of time how any clone will fruit. But it's nice to have lots of different options to try to fruit out. Like they said an agar pin clone should be nice and clean - no need to dissect inner tissue - just plop the pin down on agar. If you have a bunch of them then you can have a whole bunch of pin clones coming down the pipe and maybe one or two of them will be some prolific fruiter.

I just made a whole bunch of plates just for this specific reason. 4 or 5 plates each of 8 different strains. Some cubes some exotics. Just for this express purpose of setting aside and having a crap ton of stones and pins to clone for a bunch of clone cultures coming down the pipe to test out, as well as any inner tissue clones and transfers.

I put them in the fridge in case the subsequent transfers and clones don’t work out, you can always go back to the drawing board,
