I randomly met one of our trusted identifiers from the hunting/ID board in the middle of the woods.

We had recently moved to rural upstate NY. I found a very unique and diverse forest to hike in and look for mushrooms.
From the first snow melt in may until mid july, I went hunting at least two and sometimes as often as six days a week. Never saw another person there.

One day I was crouched in the bushes, picking a huge patch of Lactarius hygrophoroides.
Someone yells from way down the trail "I thought there was someone here looking at my mushrooms"

We start talking mushrooms. He brings up the shroomery. Turns out he's BobZimmer. The only person I encounter in the woods in months and he's a trusted identifier here on the shroomery.
We went hiking together a bunch after that.
I learned more on those hikes than I did in years of reading about mushrooms.

Wow, that’s super neat! You would already have something to bond over. What a small world... festivals would definitely be a obvious place to meet fellow Shroomerites. A lot of open minded people go to them.

Cool story! Very well written, and touching. Met yourself a mushroom guru/mentor :levitate: :mushroom:

Yeah.. lol. I was probably just imagining things. I had Shroomery on the brain that night lol. Sometimes I’ll day dream about what y’all are up to when I’m on psychedelics or just out and about. I’ll think about the convos on here, or something funny, and just chuckle to myself. My gf says I have a problem  but she understands/accepts me.

Word, this sort of thinking is considered borderline paranoid.

" Thinking you can hear anothers thoughts"

" Thinking that people at an event are talking about you"

etc.

While these may be true SOMETIMES, the overall idea is to not think too deep into it.

And do what you did.. SMILE

I think it’s completely possible to read another’s thoughts or pick up on vibrational cues. We can feel someone miles away, and communicate telepathically. How do you think ancient civilizations communicated long distances? There were no telephones to reach out.. they reached out with their minds/spirits.

Now that's a long stretch for most minds, but for me, I will tend to agree with that train of thought.

THere's millions of examples everyday where a mother, brother sister or father or friend just "knows" or dreams about something bad... and then it turns out to be true.

That can't be proven, and has not, by science, ya know? That sort of research will get you tagged by the CIA for psychic research specialist, or at least they used to feed candidates LSD and get them to remote view areas for war purposes...

This sort of thing is not an " on demand " ability. It just happens, and it's true. But it can't be explained, or even studied, or replicated.

:orly:

Well that's really not that intellectual, just basic common folk lore thoughts.

Are you saying you thought I was a non psychic believing drone of society?

So, since you said

Lol. I wasn’t sure man. Just thought you were a fun guy.

My personal experience with it is my first  ever experience doing LSD. I was 17 at the time, and had some mushrooms twice before then, (a eighth each time). I was with one of my best buddies at the time. He took me to this house with people I’ve never met before. These people were aspiring Kung fu masters, a mix of women and men.

It was night out and we went into a open field, snow on the ground. We practiced some Kung fu streatches, which I had never done before. There were deer crossing the railroad tracks. This wasn’t uncommon for the small town of Missoula Montana. It was a energy I had never felt before, complete awe.

We went back inside their home where we practiced some sparring. I was trying to defend against this one woman, but she kept hitting me. It hurt, but I felt alive.

After the sparring we sat down in a circle where we proceeded to read from a spirit animal book. At the time my spirit animal was the ant because I carried the whole weight of the world on my shoulders, (my mom was batteling cancer at the time.

Fast forward to where this story comes to a conclusion...

... We were all sitting around in the same circle, holding hands. The man that was teaching us the martial arts said “hold hands and imagine towers, each tower holds many different plains of consciousness, we can meet on these plains, each level of every tower holds an individual, or group of people, we can meet anytime here.

I felt the towers going up, and up, and up. Each level was like another level of communication, it was like we didn’t need phones or anything to communicate. The levels are where we could meet the others.

Changed my whole perspective on communication from that day forward.

Great story. The first part about the come up and being abused, I don't like it, and that sucks.

But the second part, about where your mind was opened up to the levels of psychic communication ring about true with me.

The story that I've seen and experienced myself, is that if a person experiences heavy drugs before they are 23+, their brain is more likely to be altered in a way that is communicative to the psychic experience for the rest of their life..

How, or why this happens, or how long that effect lasts, is up for debate.

Interesting. I wouldn’t doubt that. I’m more in my head most of the time. I socialize yes, but am more of a vibrational person.

Some people get uncomfortable around me because I’m so quiet. I can’t stand people who just talk to hear themselves speak. Mindless chitter chatter pisses me off!

I wasn’t abused, just sparring. Pain is a natural thing. If we don’t feel pain, we can’t distinguish pleasure from it. Yin and yang ☯️

:themoreyouknow:

Sounds Ok then, I just wasn't sure from what you said before if you were abused.

Life thoughts: Once the threshold of pain is realized, there is no more pleasure from it.

So yo're "quiet" eh? That's ok, so am I, but I also am known to have a big mouth. I know the best of both worlds because I was lucky to be born like that.

"Chitter chatter people " as you describe are NOT in my life.

I have like 7 FB friends( by choice). I hold time with my family alone . I don't spend any time on that bullshit "chit chat social crap" like you said.

So I tend to agree partially with your post.

I could die today, and be alright with it. I know my time here is short. Why waste it on my suffering?

No one likes to feel pain, but it’s a part of life. If we don’t embrace it, we will spend our whole lives suffering.

Just like Buddha, we have to face our demons.

Quiet people tend to hear/observe more than loud people. We’re just more aware of our surroundings. Everyone has their place though, and lessons to learn.

I love being around loud people sometimes because it gives me another seance of diversity.

I try my best not to judge people, I just prefer the company of certain individuals.

Be careful with the delving and seances.

You sir express, that you might die today and would be ok with it.
Are you ok with a violent death?
a death by torture?
maybe a death by negligent homicide resulting in your permanent paralyzation?

Be careful to be so ready for death. But also, kudos to you for being OK with whatevs.

We must accept our suffering, and embrace life as we know it, even if we're in the moment of dying.

Even if it were a violent death I’d be okay with it. Did Jesus die peacefully? No! He was a martyr.

I don’t want to die right now, but if I did it would be my time to go.

Why fight the inevitable? You’d only be creating more suffering for yourself.
