Kim kisses trumps ass and it looks like denuclearization isn’t part of the talks anymore

Quote:
We’re working on a summit. And you know all about the summit. It will be in Vietnam -- Hanoi. And we will -- we’ll be meeting in Hanoi. We’ll be meeting in Hanoi. I think a lot of you will be going, I suspect. And I hope we have the same good luck as we had in the first summit. A lot was done in the first summit. No more rockets going up. No more missiles going up. No more testing of nuclear. Get back our remains, the remains of our great heroes from the Korean War. And we got back our hostages.

But we hope we’re going to be very much equally as successful. I’m in no rush for speed. We just don’t want testing. The sanctions, as you know, remain. Everything is remaining. China has been helping us, and Russia has been helping us. And South Korea, I think you can say, has been -- we’ve been working very closely with South Korea, with Japan.

But China, Russia, on the border, have really been at least partially living up to what they’re supposed to be doing. And that’s okay -- as per the United Nations.

So we will have a meeting on the 27th and 28th of February, and I think that will be a very successful one. I look forward to seeing Chairman Kim. We have also established a very good relationship, which has never happened between him or his family and the United States. They have really taken advantage of the United States. Billions of dollars has been paid to them. And we won’t let that happen.

But we think that North Korea and Chairman Kim have a tremendous potential as an economic force, economic power. Their location between South Korea and then Russia and China -- right smack in the middle -- is phenomenal.

Trumps policies are a disaster

The point is, the trade deficit hasn't changed and trade between the two nations essentially remains the same, so making a claim that the "trade war" is responsible for economic weakness isn't backed by any quantifiable evidence.

How can you say it hasn’t changed. US exports to China dropped 41%

It's not like China even buys much from the US much to begin with, either way someone is going to buy soybeans in a global market.

China's IP theft is obvious, and of course the US has every right to try change that situation.

Plenty of good graphs to misinterpret here.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-03-10/intellectual-property-theft-not-steel-and-aluminum-is-the-real-/9531176

Quote:
Recent reports out of the US suggest Section 301 will be initially dropped on the $US130 billion worth of electrical goods China ships to the US each year.

While taxing what are effectively steel off-cuts from the smoky, old Chinese industrial complex could probably be ignored in Beijing, not so an attack on China's vision for a high-tech, high-margin, low-polluting future.

It would inevitably provoke retaliation, with US farmers likely to be the immediate collateral damage.

Soon you would have not only excess steel and aluminium washing around the world's trade routes looking a shore to wash up on, you can add all manner of grains and agricultural produce as well.

Pretty soon prices tumble and everyone piles in throwing up more trade barriers.

Once those sorts of huge distortions are put into the $850 billion worth of goods traded between China and the US each year, who knows what the outcome would be on everyone else.

One of the few certainties in such a situation is Australia, with its small domestic market, its heavy reliance on being a price-taker in commodity exports and no leverage in such battles, would get absolutely hammered.

Protectionist policies damage free trade, the flow on effects snowball.
Ironically as our dollar falls our manufacturing industries benefit, so Trump's "Trade War's can be a good thing" statement is half correct,
the other half of that idea is it also causes absolute chaos.

US soybean growers won't have to worry about growing soybeans next year, as they'll be gearing up to grow wheat, no money in soybeans in the immediate future.
What then, will that do to wheat prices?... and so on and so forth.

Hey, no one is FORCING US companies to do business with the Chinese, so it's not up to the US government to fix "unfair" business practices by Chinese.

Even if China signed a deal and said they wouldn't violate IP rights, would it even be worth the paper it's written on?  No.

Let me ask you, does China practice "free trade"?  No, and they have a massive trade surplus with the US as a result. So please, no lectures on the merits of "free trade".

BTW, the Chinese Yuan are fixed and not allowed to trade freely, how's that for "free trade"?  https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/030616/why-chinese-yuan-pegged.asp :rofl2:

Also, the US dollar has been moving higher, so much for helping US exports. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4222876-u-s-dollar-strong ;  Even after the Fed waved the white flag on interest rates, the US dollar made even more recent highs.

Why do so many young, anger, dissident young men and woman identify so much with Trump?

I have more in common with Trump than most of you.  I went to a high end military school myself.  I also came from a family that had a good business.  I'm white and arrogant (at times), in fact I have more Russian DNA than Trump.  Perhaps Trump just gets along with Russian woman well, or he was subverted.

Did you somehow miss this? As if I'm barracking for the Chinese ffs? I thought it was a reasonable post, hell I even said Trump was half right about something, which is 50% more than he usually is.

Gee if only we were all as smart as you hey? Must be great being so clever, but difficult moving through doorways I'm guessing?

No need for anymore debate everyone, any questions regarding anything and everything just ask Great Scott.
All your problems solved.

You'll have to excuse me now I'm off for another brainwashing session.

Look at it this way, The Corporate Elite are never going to allow any meaningful form of economic tariffs on US imports, that would cost them trillions of dollars per year.

The US trade deficit with China is still growing larger, that's NOT going away in this so called "trade war" with China. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-imports-hit-all-time-high-trade-deficit-with-china-sets-new-record-despite-tariffs-2018-11-02
