How do YOU dry your mushrooms?

So I was recently told that my method of drying is completely inadequate. I pop them in front of a fan on the highest setting in a warm room. They are dry cracker dry within about three days. I've used oven baked Epsom salts before too. I'm going to invest in a dehydrator.

I know this isn't ideal, but the mushrooms always get me to where I want to be. My penis envies for example still seem to be really strong. I gave them to three friends that all trip regularly and two of  them said they wouldn't want to take more than 3g after having a lower dose and being blown away.

Those who have both dried in front of a fan and also used a dehydrator...have you noticed a substantial decrease in potency from using the fan?

How do YOU dry your mushrooms?

What is the best method?

I use a food dehydrator with extra trays, but eventually as I'm scaling things up I'm going to build a DIY bulk dehydrator similar to this

I've been looking at them and they're as cheap as £30 ($38) but are the cheap ones any good?

Yeah, a cheap one will do fine. You can even find used ones in thrift stores usually for a few bucks.

Haha, I'm spawning four 110 quart monos right now. I'm going to limp my way through these and my shoe boxes with just a regular dehydrator or two and extra trays, but that's not a sustainable method as I continue to scale up.

Haha oh great you'll be drowning in them! To be fair I got carried away with the fun of growing and worked out that if I tripped on 8 grams once a week I have enough to last two years. Yet I still want to grow because I love doing it. Should probably switch to edibles instead before this gets ridiculous!!

I use a desk lamp and tin foil.

With the fan you will never be totally cracker dry, ain't gonna happen.

Your loss in potency will be from deterioration cause by leftover moisture.  If you want those babies to stay fresh, dry them for 24 hours until they are cracker dry, then seal them off in an airtight container like a quart mason jar.

Mine stay shelf stable this way for a ridiculously long time.

My mushrooms literally snap in half and do so weeks later because I checked.

They go cracker dry.

I just checked on all of my zip lock bags of mushrooms and out of all of them there was one where the mushrooms bent instead of snapped! Shock horror! So you're half right. Most of the bags were fine though. The rest of them.

I need that dehydrator!

I will never understand people's hesitation to get a food dehydrator. Like, sure I have a giant fan sitting around, or an oven. But like... it says it in the name. A food dehydrator de-hydrates... your food.

Nah, i'd brew a tea, reduce it to 10ml per gram of mushroom, then freeze it in cubes. Pretty sure if you can't afford a dehydrator you're not going to go the chemical extraction route either.
