By the way they make rotisserie chicken out of chicken that's fucked. Either minutes away from expiration or with some other issue. They're not using anything but the worst pics to do the rotisserie with.

dont get anxious and paranoid OP.

I work in a retail position and every one talks shit about customers who do shit like you are doing, not because it is actually annoying or a big deal, but because they are stuck in a fucking miserable place for 8+ hours a day and you happen to be the one abnormality for them to comment on and make their day interesting.  Take pride in it. buy more chicken.

I don't see why you would need to go there the day before you buy it either, just give them a custom order one time, and tell them you will be in to get the same thing every 10 days.

But yeah. I'm not surprised you are having such a shitty experience. Ohio is a fucking trash can. They have absolutely nothing going for them, fuck ohio.

I shop at Costco regularly and have never experienced anything but the best customer service.

I cant even imagine your scenario, but I know exactly how I would handle it.

"Excuse me for being frank, but I will buy as much, or as little, a product I'd like.  I'm getting tired of being harassed for buying product and spending money at your establishment.  Perhaps this is a sign you arent adequately stocking and supplying your store properly.  Should I contact HQ about this and sort it out above your head?  If not, fuck off"

Two things will happen.  They will fuck off or call your bluff.  If they choose to call your bluff, contact hq.  They are a bulk warehouse and they count on people buying in bulk.  They will make quick work of their bullshit.

no use psychoanalyzing the situation.

call and see if you can get a standing order. if not, one call/email to corporate about a store not wanting to take your money should solve things

It should at the very least be possible to make the order by phone rather than physically coming in and putting a paper in a box. But maybe they are hoping to annoy him with that part.

I used to get boxes of coins from banks to search them. On a number of occasions they suggested I order them ahead of time, but there wasn't much they could to to make me.

The first thing that irks me, is that they want me to load all of the chickens onto the conveyer belt. In LA, this never happened. I just left it, and they'd scan one chicken and multiply it by 7. Here, they want you to tediously load all of them onto the belt, only for them to struggle putting it back into the cart. It's utterly idiotic.

At the one here, I've had them get pissed off at me for starting to put items on the conveyor. "Your membership! Your membership!" Yes, I am a member, how about asking for my card in a complete sentence and being polite about it. I get the impression that they don't think I look like the kind of person who could be a member. And the dirty looks continue once they've seen my card. Why am I paying to be a member here again?

LoL - definitely sounds like a midwest issue. people there can be fucking weird. Yeah in SoCal i have found that clerks for the most part mind their own business. Costco does a few weird things for sure though - 1 is if you are not the exact person in the picture card theyre like, can you tell me where this person is...? Its my wife what the hell we have the same unheard of last name comeon

The other week when I was there i made the mistake of engaging with a costco membership salesperson while waiting in line, and she would not let up on me about the benefits of upgrading to the executive membership... I defaulted to the my wife makes all the decisions ill ask her response and she was like can you get her over here i need to talk to her

This wasn't as bad in 2007-2008 when I worked for QT.

First go in and buy like 2 chickens. Then go back to the car and put on a fake mustache, go in and by 2 more. Go back to the car and put on a moomoo, then shove a pillow up it and go in there with a walker and buy 2. Then go back to your car and put on a turban and a bed sheet and a fake beard and buy the last one. Seven chickens, no embarrassment, problem solved.

Lets consider from their perspective.

You buy 7 chickens. More than they anticipated selling at that one time. You're happy and gone.

Now perhaps they have to deal with 2-3 other upset customers over the lack of chicken. The customers blame the costco employees for poor management and "how could you not have chicken?! Thats what I came here for!"

So naturally the costco employees would be kind of irked when one single dude wipes them out for the hour and no advanced notice. Its natural, have you ever worked retail or grocery store?
That does NOT mean you are in the wrong though. And its a difference of management/sales/projections between that location and LA.

Seeing as this bothers you enough to make a post I recommend taking action and getting to the bottom of this.

Talk to a manager next time and let them know about your situation and chicken preferences. Mention the uncomfortable vibes employees give you while you do your chickens. Tell them you can call ahead (idk couple hours) with a estimated time of your chicken purchases if that would be better for them.
Communication may be uncomfortable but it'll sort this out for you buddy.

Make a competitively priced rotisserie chicken wagon propped up next door to Costco and make it your life goal that they never sell another chicken again. When the chicken market crumbles, hire their rotisserie chicken experts for half the price they were being paid at Costco and use their cross training expertise to infiltrate the outdoor living and wine markets. Costco will be sorry they ever fucked with your single consumer supply chain.

I went to a Costco to get a hot dog. I guess they changed it to where you have to have a membership to use the food court now. Rip. Fascists.
