costco brand beer

alright, got one of these tonight because it was $21 for a 24 pack and my friend (who works there, and ID'd me since i am only 20) said it was worth it.

wow.

i am never buying another pack of sam adam's again. this is excellent for "cheap" beer. i guess it's outsourced and costco doesn't actually brew it, but it's done by a decent microbrew company and they undercut the prices of all the other big name beers by almost 10%.

i can't shrug off the feeling that with each beer i'm selling a little part of my soul away, though.



it's no magic hat, but their pale ale is pretty similar to sierra nevada if you're a fan of that.

Costco is not like Walmart. The ownership, management, and staff seem pretty happy by big chain standards.

$21 for a case isnt too cheap. I used to pay $11 for a case of Natural Light at a gas station near my college. Deal for real. I'd be willing to try this costco beer though, Im definitely no beer snob.

Costco beer is actually "real" beer.  It used to be brewed by  Gordon Biersch which is a decent brewpub type of place.

It's now brewed by some other smaller-named micro down in Cali, but I drank my last bottle and don't recall the name.


Anyway, it's decent beer.  Nothing to write home about, but a good value if you like microbrew but are on a budget.


In some Costco's they actually sell Kirkland brand Vodka as well, which actually got really decent reviews by a lot of spirit type magazines and reviewers.

It got decent reviews on beer advocate (B-) so it can't be too bad. But I admit I'm a major beer snob so probably won't be trying this one anytime soon.

i'd give it a try. i like their king crab legs (best anywhere), smoked salmon filets, tp, deals on electronics, deals on vacations, their fruit smoothie, chicken bakes, free samples, i could go on. i have memories as a kid running around those big ass warehouses collecting samples. costco is solid.

Thats a shitty deal too. Natty Light is basically water.

Real men can drink Milwaulkie's Best Ice for the cheapors.

gordon beirsch is not too bad, a little overpriced if you ask me and costco beats the hell out of sams club in quality, def going to check this out
