BEER OF THE MONTH CLUB
    #6574678 -

anyone ever join a beer of the month club?...
im interested in comparing what beers you got and other info like if they were souts, ale, or lager...
we just received our third shipment...we get 3 bottles of 4 different microbrews from across america...
a 12'er everymonth...very nice surprise when it arrives...weve received in order this far:

Boulder Beer Co. --------------Never Summer Ale
Green Flash Brewing Co.------Sandiego Extra Pale Ale
Ridgeway Brewing Co.---------Bad Elf
Ridgeway Brewing Co---------Santas Butt
Shipyard Beer Co.-------------Prelude Special Ale
Shipyard Beer Co.-------------Blufin Stout
Brooklyn Brewery-------------Brooklyn Brown Ale
Brooklyn Brewery-------------Brooklyn Lager
Clipper City Brewing Co.-----Imperial Stout
Clipper City Brewing Co.-----Gold Ale
Two Brothers Brewing Co.----DuPage French Country Ale
Two Brothers Brewing Co-.---The Bitter End Pale Ale

personally i think the stouts so far have all kicked ass and that lager was a welcome surprise as well...
BEERS THAT TASTE LIKE SHIT ARE USUALLY THE BEST...anything that tastes like it was strung through
a worn sock full of spent coffee grounds has proven thus far to be a potent treat to end a day...
**also**i really wanna hear responses from someone whos subscribed to a beer of the month like club...
i wanna know how long until i start getting repeats and other little curiosities...

I believe the sock-full of coffee effect you're speaking of is called hoppiness bro. Pale ales are usually extra hoppy... India Pale Ales especially because they used to ship brews from england to the colonies in India and they would cram it full of hops to keep it from going bad.

I'll definitely have to join a beer of the month club after my 21st...

Do you have a link or anything?

how much does a Beer Club cost?

Def seems like an interesting investment. My roomate's father has a subscripton but he gets beers from all over the world

I live in Colorado and I must say Never Summer Ale is my favorite right now. It's just a shame that it's a winter brew.

i pay $15 for a 12 pack of sierra nevada pale ale at the store... $20 for a 12er of even better beer delivered to my doorstep sounds pretty kickass to me...

It says shipping is included in that price too...

It's not that bad of a deal I guess.

even though you have to click that link to get to this page

and the shipping included price is 25!  Even though that's still a good price, I do like me some microbrews, and the price isn't supposed to be a great price, you're paying for the access to beers that you normally wouldn't usually encounter.

And I love sampling beers I never heard of

now I'm all stoned and rambly :tokeeporder:

my only fear is that all beer of the month clubs pull from the same stock...this will break my heart if it is true...ive noticed two BOTMClubs that distribute the same beer at the same time as mine...and this leads me to believe that they may be part of some
"start your own internet business" bullshit and that the beer selections will recycle themselves and may not be what they are labeled as...

My buddy told me about a place around here called Beers of the World or something like that. Basically you go in and get a card with all 150 beers on it. You can get up to 3 per visit and you get them punched off your card. When you get to certain amounts, like 10, 20, etc. they give you stuff like tshirts and whatnot. When you get to try all 150 of them they throw you a party and you get your name up on the wall of victorious beer drinkers.

Santa's Butt......that's the one that caught a bunch of flak a little while back for showing his ass right? How is it?

Santa's butt was alright...it was the only beer from the first shipment to standout...
the others were all ales...I'm not too fond of ales and that seems to be the majority of
what gets sent...I'm not complaining but...okay I'm complaining...
things did get better, sporadic stouts and lagers are being thrown in...the most potent so far being
ClipperCity's Imperial Stout...it was thick, nasty, and 8%alc by vol...dig it...all others fall in the range of 5-7%

oh and Santa's Butt refers to an English term- Butt=a barrel capable of holding 180 imperial gallons
