I saw cinderblock at a Costco in Cleveland yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like ten rotisserie chicken in his hands without paying.

The girl who checked receipts was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the chickens and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “because of Costco pratocol,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each chicken and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

He's still up to his old ways huh? I haven't seen him since he lived in California. I seen him at the Safeway there and he was really cool. He was taking the legs off of some of the rotisserie chickens and stuffing them inside the chickens that he was planning on buying. He got 4 to 5 legs/thighs into each of the 7 chickens that he was buying so on a good trip to the store he would get 35 "free" chicken legs.

He's really strong from eating so many chickens so I didn't say anything about it. None of my business anyways.

Goddamn, if that ain't the best piece of fanfiction I've ever read, let alone of me! I'm a writer, so this means a lot to me. Thank you so much. I'm gonna save this. Greatest flattery I've ever received.

But gah, I fuckin wish I was that guy. Nah, in real life, I'm a socially anxious, neurotic, overthinking, pathetic excuse for a human being.

Goddamn, that is hilarious. "Taking the legs off of some of the rotisserie chickens and stuffing them inside the chickens that he was planning on buying..." wow.

I've never laughed out loud so much, than reading some of these creative scenarios. Damn, I hope you guys are writers, because it would be a damn shame to waste your talent.

I'll be saving this. Thank you so much. Means a lot to me.

Who the hell eats a whole chicken a day!? At some point you become one with the chicken, you are what you eat

Well, imagine Mr. Shop owner, or even Mr cashier who has to answer to Mr shop owner.

Mr shop owner wants to keep all customers happy.

Customers are happy when they are able to buy chicken.

Customers who consume chicken are not happy at least one day a week when one wise guy cleans out the chicken stock.

Customers not being happy would have a knock on effect on Mr shop owner's happiness and subsequently the happiness of Mr cashier.

Maybe Mr shop owner finds himself in a dilemma because he doesn't want to increase the chicken stock on account of one person who may soon himself transform into a chicken and no longer be able to make purchases, not to mind being able to fathom the concept of trading monetary units for goods and services.

Nobody likes a chicken hog.

The part where you posit I'll transform into a chicken and no longer be able to make purchases, you had me. Literally blurted out with laughter.

But you had to end it on a meanspirited note by calling me a chicken hog.

Humans never cease to disappoint me. They raise me up, only to bring me down.

I'm just kidding, gah...

At the end of the day, nothing soothes me more than hanging out with people who have creative takes on life's trials and tribulations.

I swear I wish I had some of you guys on speed dial.

Thank you so much. I will be saving this.

I really hope some of you write, because ya'll deserve to have your thoughts published.

Very funny.

Well, I do kinda act like a scared chicken. I'm very nonconfrontational and shy away from drama, so perhaps there's some truth to what you're saying.

Gah, I wish it was a fetish. I'm really sick of Costco's bland chicken, but it's cheap and convenient so I just put up with it.

Seriously though. You could easily get those people fired if you wanted. I personally would tell them to mind their own fucking business and that you're calling corporate on them if they keep harassing you. Then take your phone out and snap a picture of them. That will freak them out, HAHA!

That's the biggest load of bullshit I've heard in a while and makes me mad just reading it.

Costco actually has the biggest whole chickens. I don't know where they get 'em, but they're almost twice as large as the ones at the grocery store. Actually, I once read they get them from Tyson, but apparently Costco's started investing in their own chicken farms so they can save even more money.

I really don't eat anything too exciting. My diet is very simple and basic. Chicken is my base. I have it at least 3-4 servings a day with ketchup and tabasco. I also eat microwave burgers that they sell at Costco. And I have a lot of golden delicious apples, not because they're my favorites. My favorite is Ambrosia apples, but golden delicious is the best tasting apple among the "budget apples" like Gala, Fuji, and Granny.

I also make green smoothies with spinach, kale, apples, lemon, and ginger.

For carbs, I usually have peanut butter sandwiches and Pop Tarts. I also drink a lot of coffee that I roast at home.

This is my diet everyday, holidays included. I never eat out.

What do you normally eat?

By the way they make rotisserie chicken out of chicken that's fucked. Either minutes away from expiration or with some other issue. They're not using anything but the worst pics to do the rotisserie with.

I wouldn't be surprised. I buy the ones from Costco because it's cheap and convenient. If you're gonna eat chicken everyday, might as well acquire a taste for cheap chicken.

I cook two or three chickens at once, pick all the meat off, and make like 4 or 5 chicken flatbread pizzas. Takes like 4 or 5 hours.
THen I freeze them in individual portions. Saves a lot of money.

Gah, some people here like yourself have suggested filing a complaint directly to HQ, but honestly, I don't see how that's gonna help my situation, because of where I live. While the Costco in Los Angeles is a revolving door, not so in Cleveland. I see the same manager everytime I go there, I see the same guy who's in charge of the chicken, the same person who checks your Costco membership at the entrance, same person who marks your receipt, etc.

Considering I'm already a hot topic among the employees, I don't think I want to add fuel to the fire, by being the guy who got so-and-so in trouble, or God forbid someone loses their job over my complaint, and they're like, "OMG, Mary was a hard worker, and she's had this job for 15 years, and it's all she knows, and she's a single mother raising three kids, what will she do now?" etc etc.

It's awkward enough living in a small town, being paranoid, and then having my paranoia vindicated through a confrontation about buying an item that they're offering. Loss leader or not, they don't have limits, so I don't know why they're giving me a hard time.

Honestly, I feel like I have the reputation of the guy at the casino who's card counting, so there's a bulletin on me, like "watch out for this notorious cheater." Or the guy at the store who always eats their bananas and grapes and strawberries without paying for them and walking out.

Anyway, the last thing I wanna become is "that guy from Los Angeles who ruined Cleveland. Before his arrival, everything was perfect. Why did he have to come here? I wish we could click our heels and go back to how it used to be."

Dude, you *ARE* paranoid and that's why it's not OK. Fuck them. Their job is to make sure your shopping experience is wonderful and you get what you need.

If Mary the hard working mother of 3 gets fired, that's her own damn fault. A tough lesson to learn but SERIOUSLY. They are selling chicken, you are buying it. Fuck those lazy ass gossipy workers .

And fuck coming in the day before to put an order in. That's the biggest load of crap I've heard.

Seriously man if it's that big of a deal and is effecting your mental state because of it, you need to either do something about it, so not let it get to you, or stop shopping there.

Yeah, it's a source of shame for me. I don't make a lot of money, so I try to conserve as much money as possible. I used to buy London Broil as well when I went to Costco, but then the price went up one day. I thought the spike was the result of a temporary shortage, so I decided to wait for the it to go back down. But it never did, so one day, I stopped checking, and I haven't been back to the red meat section since.

I don't cook, because it takes too much time. I have too many hobbies and interests that I wanna pursue, rather than spending time on something that I don't think is contributing to my mental self-improvement.
