Aww pris, you're making me blush.
so, i based my math on the fact that the usa was running at a 9.3% unemployment rate, and assumed that 25% would be 2.325% bringing us to a 6.975% unemployment rate. I don't know where you get the figure of a 4% unemployment rate.

maybe you should read that again

Quote:
imagine how much our economy would rebound if Americas un-employment numbers suddenly dropped 6.975%
that would cause a ripple that might just cause a rebound for the entire fucking world economy.

Quote:
Regardless, there are jobs available out there, im not saying that its not hard. but there are infact jobs, america has not come to some grinding halt. And these jobs could be filled by qualified people currently sitting on their ass collecting un-employment.

yes, there are jobs, most are filled, people are working that's why we
arent at a 100% unemployment rate, sure there's new jobs opening but far
too few to even consider an improvement in the economy especially since
many of those ipenings means that someone else just lost theirs in order
for it to open up and since obama hasnt shat the jobs he was gonna
create to keep the unemployment rate from getting over 8% we've had a
rate above 10%, one that's just recently dropped because a million
people over the last month were dropped from unemployment because their
benefits expired

our actual number of unemployed people is around 20% of the total work force

Quote:
Id be willing to bet the farm on it, if you cut these peoples un-employment benefits. straight up stopped them, they would find a job.

where? how many opening are there at McDonalds for 30 million people, I mean you are aware of how many people are drawing unemployment benefits arent you... 9.3% doesnt seem like a big number

Quote:
as a matter of fact, i recall a history teacher of mine telling the class about a previous president who straight up cut off all benefits for........ well, i cant remember what it exactly was, but his theory was that there were too many fakers, and that to correctly distribute funds, the whole system had to be started over again.

your history teacher lives in a fantasy world, there's no president that
eliminated unemployment benefits, ever.

this has to be some of the dumbest shit you've ever come up with, who's
going to pull 20 million jobs out of their ass so we can have that 4%
unemployment rate, Obama promised us job creation, the only jobs he's
created are for his cabinet and some temp jobs for the census

there's 30 million currently collecting unemployment, are you trying to

that are out of work and not collecting, you figure they're scamming too?

Get a job you hate, to buy shit you do not need????
OP, indeed this thread IS bullshit.
Im callin you out.
I worked at least fourty, if not fifty hours per week from sixteen till I saw the light.
I was a loan officer making great money, snorting giant piles of coke and drinking good booze.
In my late twenties I just got fed up, quit.
I moved to the woods.
Yup I  collect ue, I am college educated, skillfull and intelligent. I produce my own food, and consume very little "stuff".  I get 300 a week from the guvment.
I take care of the farm, my 8 month old son, and menial referbishing of my old mountain cottage and land.
Now.... lets break this down
childcare - 150 per week
food from garden - 100 per week
gas to drive to work - 30 per week
paying contractors/landscapers/electricians ungodly.
So, in order for me to make this feasible to find work, I would either need to make ALOT of money, or work from home, which I do.  I sell edibles to resturaunts and farm markets, and fresh, free range chickens and eggs.
I figure all the money my family and I have contributed to the cause we derserve something other than broken promies and fat getting fatter.  So yes, I take thier money, as does a close friend who was in the upper 1% income bracket for ten or so years.  He paid six figure income tax each year, he relaxes.
Besides the fact that I garden organicly, i raise chixkens for eggs n meat, I get to raise my own son.
Your logic, as well as that of others is flawed.
Again, go to a low paying job I hate so I can buy shit I do not need, not see my family, eat garbage food and burn up natural resources so i can go into debt buying shit i do not need.
Oh thanks for reminding me, I need to call my UE in while i sit in a bath smoking 250 and drinking beer with the simpsons on

Guess what? Employers pay for unemployment, so if you think it's hurting the government you are wrong. I worked my balls off steadily for 10 years so ya'll could pump out 3 kids a peice and get a welfare check that I paid for, live in a hud house that I paid for and food stamps that I paid for. Meanwhile they  just say "I don't know who the daddy is" So the guy don't have to pay child support. I've watched the government hand shit out to blacks, mexicans, retards and pregnant women my whole life. I paid 30% in taxes for 10 years That's $90,000 worth of foodstamps and welfare I've paid, so if you're mad I drew unemployment this year :flipthebird: if you wanna help the economy, get all the people out of the hud buildings and start drug testing welfare recipients. They get the foodstamps and trade them off 2 for 1 for cash and buy beer or drugs instead of feeding their kids:thumbdown:

People, the fact is that the US economy has shed 8 million jobs in the last 10 years.  That's a total of 8 million FEWER jobs available, and that number includes the walmart and mc donalds jobs that have opened as manufacturing and high tech jobs have gone elsewhere.

Those of you blaming people who are out of work are not doing the math.

What's more, welfare moms with lots of kids and an absent dad may make for good press, but it's a small fraction of actual welfare.  The biggest welfare recipients are large corporations who pay zero in taxes because they have an offshore mailbox.  In addition, guess who paid all these manufacturing companies to ship their factories and equipment to China?  Yup, the American taxpayers.  They got to write off the entire cost of shutting down factories(JOBS) in the US and the costs of setting them back up again in China where workers make about 10% of what the greeter at walmart makes.  However, the products they make for a fraction of the cost still sell for full market value, so the rest of us don't save any money at all from the made-in-china crap, but the company makes huge profits.

Before you guys keep blaming out of work people in the US, take a look in your own tool chests, electronics, and the car in your driveway.  If they weren't made in the US, you're the source of the problem, not the solution, so quit your damned bitching.

All I have to say is that if you believe america is fucked up and
broke because of the people on unemployment you have ur head up ur ass.
Unemployment is paid into its not like they are just handing this shit
out for free. Well actually they are because there is no back to our money

at all its made up outta thin fucking air.

But think of the billions of dollars we are blowing each year fighting
wars all over the world and even in our own country "the war on drugs"

Quit crying about people who accept a UE check becuase they fell on hard
times and cant find work. Its not like its the 70's where you can go work
for FORD straight outta high school.

Where I come from, it's called E.I.(employment insurance).  Every job I've had and every cheque I've gotten, has had E.I. fees deducted from it.

I've payed thousands and thousands of dollars into E.I. over the course of my working life.  And will I ever get all of it back?  No.  Will some of it be there when I can't find work?  Yes.  And you can be damn sure I'll use it.  It's not like the government is giving a hand out.  I paid for that shit.

Welfare is a different story.  I truly believe that people who pass regular drug tests should be the only ones collecting welfare.

once again, ive got nothing against people legitimately collecting unemployment....

but seriously, there are jobs available.

also, there are millions of ways that anyone here in America can go make a buck. go push a lawn mower, go  pan for gold(mining law of 1872), take advantage of the free land the government will give you if you just farm it. (desert land entry act).

But everyone who is on unemployment paid in to receive those benefits.

You want to know the damn honest truth at why people rather sit on unemployment than find a shitty low end job? Because they get paid more from UE than they would from the shitty job.

actually, the mining law of 1872 is still in full force.

i havent done a DLE (you can only do one in your lifetime, and i want some really good land) but its available in all 11 western states, and the prices you have to pay upon completion of your entry, were set in the late 1800's its like a dollar an acre, a quarter up front, and 75 cents upon completion.

nifty stuff.

Zippoz you make it sound like it's so easy to make money...
But didn't you write a thread awhile back about how you were homeless over Christmas, and had to rely on strangers to make it home?
Why didn't you go mine for gold or mow some lawns then, instead of begging for money?
