Secrets of Kundalini

--------------------
Love is from the infinite, and will remain until eternity.
The seeker of love escapes the chains of birth and death.
Tomorrow, when resurrection comes,
The heart that is not in love will fail the test.

~ Rumi

The day we start giving Love instead of seeking Love, we will have re-written our whole destiny.
~ Swami Chinmayanada Saraswatir

From the link:

"...there isn't anybody on this planet, I can say with assuredly, that understands Kundalini or this universal life force energy well enough to speak about it with any authority, in my opinion"

Which begs the question why a teacher is required for something that happens naturally on the path.

If you listen to or read the whole show, this is thoroughly addressed in the last part. I will do a poor job of briefly explaining, but I’m not a teacher, so for better information, listen to the whole thing and I’m sure your question will be answered. The point he is making in that quote is that all of these people teaching Kundalini Yoga etc have very very rarely experienced Kundalini themselves, much less really understand it or have actualized the whole path through her.

Asking why you need a teacher for Kundalini and even the path itself is very similar to asking why someone hoping to become a virtuoso violinist needs a teacher who is already a virtuoso themselves. Sure, you might be able to teach yourself the basics of how to play the violin, but to really understand the subtleties of technique, to become a real master, you are going to need a teacher who has already accomplished that themselves. But the ego doesn’t really like the idea of a teacher, because it doesn’t want to admit it needs help. I know that’s how I used to feel for sure.

Although in some rare cases, authentic Kundalini activation happens spontaneously, in most cases, it is actually the teacher themselves who activate the energy in the student through direct transmission, when the time is right. It seems that even in people who seemingly have spontaneous Kundalini, actually they may have just received a transmission in a previous life. I have a friend who seemingly had spontaneous Kundalini awakening, and she actually had to stop meditating and do everything she could to shut the energy down until she found a teacher, because it was out of control and she couldn’t manage it by herself. She didn’t have the meditative foundation in place to be able to handle the energy, and the teacher wasn’t there to mitigate the strength of the energy she was experiencing

So the Kundalini..is about being at base...and then extends ever upward to the beyond?

The Kundalini is attached to the Spine.

I know that much at least..?

So therefore I guess it could go up into the brain...(which is the experience I'm having now!)

Or it could go down to form a tail..or through the regions of the legs maybe?

I've read that puritanical celibacy/semen retention (no transmutation) causes an etheric tail to grow that reaches down to the hell realms to draw power

Yes she is awakened at the base of the spine, the root chakra, and moves up the central column to the head, to the pineal gland. I have heard that in some rare cases she can also go down, but don’t have any experience with that so I couldn’t say for sure. I think you want her to go up though, gradually refining and transmuting into higher energy as she goes.

So as with Salvia Divinorum.. the experience isn't just in your mind but in your body too.. there is a whole other language that is communicated to the kosher of the serpent energy itself

I'm going to check out the link, thanks.

I have had a Kundalini awakening when I was 19, although I didn't know it at the time. Once I started doing yoga again and searching web for good positions for back and spine I stumbled upon Kundalini Yoga. I'll post report at bottom for those who are interested.

After reading up on it for a couple of days I realized what that experience was and that it had been documented long long ago.

Here is the Report, some may find it interesting.

Thanks for sharing that Blipstir. It seems psychedelics do have the potential to induce these kinds of experiences. Have you had any signs of active Kundalini since that trip?  Hope you find the show interesting

While I appreciate your efforts in trying to spread awareness and knowledge regarding spiritual matters, there really is nothing to this kundalini stuff.

It's Hindu horse shit.

Now I'm sure people are going to chime in and say that I don't know what I'm talking about, and that's it's an ancient spiritual science, etc.

What I say to them is that I'm familiar with all of that, I'm an indigenous Indian and practicing yogi.

I also want to say that the reason I call it nonsense is because there is no energy residing in the base of the spine resembling a coiled snake.

It's just an interpretation of something which is ineffable and can't be explained, and the snake archetype symbolized sexual energy which when transformed and moved upwards results in enlightenment.

Really, all there is "It", whatever you want to call it, many people in the east call it the Brahman, and no amount of kundalini yoga exercises and raising your energies will lead to realization of THAT, it's something that just happens; it's already the case.

Everything is equal, and you don't need to reincarnate several million times to attain it.

Peace.

right on, I would like to hear a modern understanding of it. Because your 100% right a lot of the stories, methods, and language that we can look back on now are indeed just interpretations and archetypes of the culture.

Sexual energy that travels up the spine through different levels and explodes out the crown of the head. That seems to make sense to me,

Now I want to know what is all the other mystical stuff that accompanies this phenomenon? like the overwhelming feelings of complete content, weightlessness and oneness or like How your able to feel and see energies and auras.

Hi Happinessfeeling. Thanks for sharing your opinion. The thing is, you’ve stated a lot of things in your post as hard fact, which personally I tend to shy away from, because actually, I’m not sure how many things I really know to be true. It’s like saying God definitely doesn’t exist because you’ve never seen him/her. A few hundred years ago, people would have thought it impossible that we could harness an invisible energy called electricity as a power source for our homes and indeed the entire planet...I said this in another thread recently, but strong beliefs box us in. They prevent us from being able to consider different perspectives, both consciously and unconsciously. It’s called ‘confirmation bias’. As one of my favourite authors says “I don’t have any beliefs, but I have many suspicions”. “Convictions cause convicts.”

I can tell you from my own personal experience that Kundalini is real, for me. I’m not trying to convince you of that, because that would defeat the object of my post. The whole point of spirituality is not to believe things you read on a forum, or in a book, or in fact to have any beliefs at all, but to have your own experiences so that you can truly know.

One final thing to add, is that if indeed it is horseshit, it’s not just Hindu horseshit. This expression of the Divine Mother is known by many names across a whole range of traditions. Kundalini, Prana Shakti, Adi Shakti, Tummo, Chandali, Holy Spirit. This energy also found in Taoism, and is the basis of internal Alchemy.

Many different cultures seem to have their own way of explaining this energy, but the idea of this manifestation of the Divine Mother seems to be fairly universal

It's like every religion teaching the freedom that comes from ecstasy.

The base of the spine, not the tip but the lower back is connected to the stomach and genitals.  In great ecstasy it's very active with energy moving.

All energy blocks must be there for a purpose.  Not quite figured out your options.

There doesn't have to be some magical rite now that we can understand how things are with science.  Magical theory can have a lot of backward off the wall 'anything' theories.

Nerves communicate and so much is the brain making sense of that.  Simplifying yourself is a long process of a deep desire not complicated for eternity by the little things.

Satsifying The super ego seems to be the destiny we all desire.  The greater part of ourself that is grateful.  That wants to give.

Ecstasy is the highest self love and capable, very capable of loving and knowing beyond.  We cannoy escape so learn to love the prison.

Nobody unhappy in prison ever really gets out.  That's why monks went to caves.  Just like taking a drug the imagination can flower and project whatever nice trinkets it wants.

It's just very human to project desire of more animals forms.  We saw as kids that's what life seemed to be.  Food felt good, made the parents happy.  Waking up energy was a bad thing.  It disturbed the status of the majority.

Does Earth really want Jesus's and Buddha's?  Or society?  Cause all they taught was making more of those.
