DPT - did this guy snort himself a Kundalini experience?

A Rip Snortin' Rough Ride
DPT

by Trey
.
DOSE: 100 mg insufflated DPT
.

After an extremely powerful experience smoking DPT freebase, I recently decided to experiment with an alternative route of ingesting this novel material. My patron had also provided me with some of the hydrochloride salt, and I chose to try insufflation this time. I had inadvertently taken considerably too much of the material when I had experimented with smoking it, so I decided to be more cautious this time, laying out only 100 milligrams of the fine white powder in two short lines even though I had been encouraged to try 150.
.
After grounding and centering myself by meditating for a while, I rolled up a crisp new twenty dollar bill and inhaled 50 milligrams up each nostril. Thankfully there was no burn to speak of, although as the material hit the back of my throat I experienced some extremely medicine-y tasting postnasal drip. I cleared my palate with a sip of a beverage I had standing at the ready for this purpose and lay down upon my bed to await the onset of effects.
.
There was a latency period of about five minutes or so, after which I felt a warm, glowing ball of energy begin to form around my genital area, which became highly sensitized. This felt extremely pleasant and very erotic. Over the next several minutes, I felt the energy travel up my spine like an electrical current. Eventually it seemed to terminate at a center in my head, and when it did so, I started to experience the full visionary effects of DPT. High resolution, brilliantly-colored images were seemingly downloaded at a frantic pace into my sensorium. The content of the visions was hard to keep up with, as the transmission seemed somewhat choppy, but there was an overall futuristic, science-fiction like theme to them. I saw outlandish images of non-human, bizarre creatures and strange, apparently alien landscapes projected onto the insides of my eyelids. Unlike my DMT experiences, there was no urgent sense of presence attached to these visions; I was definitely an observer rather than a participant in what I was seeing.
.
I found it rather hard to stay focused on the visionary content of the experience, however, because of some rather distressing physical effects that began to manifest at about the same time. As soon as the energy traveling up my spinal cord reached my head I began experiencing bodily shivering, which soon gave way to very forceful shakes and began to approach the level of full-out convulsions. My limbs were flailing about and my body was jerking around uncontrollably all over my bed. I tried as hard as I could to breathe through it and relax into whatever was going on, but I was pretty scared by this, and couldn't escape the feeling that I may have put myself in danger of serious physical harm. My breathing became rapid and shallow, my head was whipping back and forth from side to side, and I held on for dear life, hoping that it would pass quickly.
.
At about the forty-minute point, the convulsions gratefully subsided, and the visual effects also began to diminish in intensity. By the hour point things had tapered down into a very euphoric afterglow, with no real visions to speak of, just a nice, warm, opened-up empathogenic buzz. This was nearly identical to the after phase I had experienced when smoking the freebase, and lasted for the next three hours or so.
.
While I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to work with this rare and novel compound, I would be very hesitant to explore it further due to the extremely distressing nature of the physical side effects that I encountered during this experiment. The convulsions that I experienced were sufficiently strong to make it nearly impossible to make constructive use of the visionary state that DPT made available to me, not to mention pretty terrifying as well. I would advise a high degree of caution when working with DPT, and strongly recommend having a sitter present should these physical effects happen to manifest. In my own final analysis, however, there are plenty of other materials out there that open up similar enough spaces without these distracting somatic symptoms to leave me relatively uninterested in pursuing this avenue of exploration any further.

Kundalini (kuṇḍalinī कुण्डलिनी) Sanskrit, literally "coiled". In Indian yoga, a "corporeal energy"[1] - an unconscious, instinctive or libidinal force or Shakti, envisioned either as a goddess or else as a sleeping serpent coiled at the base of the spine,[2][3][4] hence a number of English renderings of the term such as 'serpent power'. Kundalini is considered a part of the subtle body along with chakras (energy centres) and nadis (channels). Each chakra is said to contain special characteristics [5]. The overall concept has many points in common with Chinese acupuncture.
.
Yoga and Tantra propose that this energy may be "awakened" by such means as austerities, breath and other physical exercises, visualization and chanting. It may then rise up a subtle channel at the spine (called Sushumna) to the head, bringing psychological illumination. Yogis tend to attempt this alone, Tantrics in couples, both usually under the instruction of a guru.
.
When Kundalini Shakti is conceived as a goddess, then, when it rises to the head, it unites itself with the Supreme Being (Lord Shiva). The aspirant becomes engrossed in deep meditation and infinite bliss.[6][7]

Researchers affiliated with the fields of transpersonal psychology and near-death studies (see references below) have suggested some common criteria that describe this condition [Kundalini Syndrome], of which the most prominent feature is a feeling of energy or heat rushing up the spine[11][12].

    * Other sensory and motor symptoms may include: the feeling of cranial pressures[13], the perception of inner sounds[11], experiences of inner lights[11][14], vibrating or tickling sensations in the lower back[11], tachycardia (rapid heart rate)[15], changes in breathing[16], spontaneous bodily movements[16], sensations of heat or cold moving through the body[14], localized bodily pain that starts and stops abruptly[14], vibrations and itching under the skin[14], and unusual, or intense, sexual sensations [17].

    * Mental and affective symptoms include: fear[18], anxiety[18], depersonalization [14], intense positive or negative emotions[14], spontaneous slowing or speeding of thoughts[14], spontaneous trance states[18], experiencing oneself as larger than the physical body [14], and experiences of paranormal consciousness [19].
.
A few theorists within the transpersonal field, such as Greyson[16], refers to this symptomatology as the "Physio-Kundalini syndrome", while other Western academics use the description Kundalini-experience/awakening [20] [21].

All of the above?  Sounds quite a bit like it.

Then again, I think it sounds a bit like the physical effects of dpt.  My sole experience with it was 50mg nasally and was very stimulating and jittery; not really psychedelic at all( though that should hopefully change the next time I try it with double the dose).  But tremors and this stimulating quality seem to be rather consistent with dpt experiences.  Maybe it does have an affinity for kundalini awakening.  I'm quite sure I've awakened the serpent a few times to effects mimicking the above report, the first few also accompanied by some very annoying RLS persisting for hours.

I voted with everyone else so far, saying that yes, it was a Kundalini experience.  I have had similar energetic experiences with psychedelics, often unpleasant and walking a fine line between intense pain and transcendental bliss.  I am not sure if Kundalini is a real phenomenon, or what its use is.  I remember reading an account of a Kundalini awakening after years of daily meditation practice, that sounded much more intense than any others I have heard of: full-on psychosis (accompanied by waves of extremely powerful blissful/painful energy), total loss of touch with the physical plane, the spontaneous acquisition of new languages and flourishes of writing seemingly guided poetic verses in these languages.

G.I. Gurdjieff taught that Kundalini energy was actually to be avoided, because it represents the realm of pure imagination and ideas, and is dangerous if one is not disciplined enough (and one would have to be very disciplined) to discern fantasy from reality.  But it seems that Kundalini Yoga is very popular these days, and many New Age and Eastern teachers give teachings on Kundalini.

Just felt like adding a few scrambled thoughts to the mix here...Thanks for sharing that report!

I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Very interesting Wiccan! I've never heard of DPT until now. His description does resemble that of a Kundalini. I've also felt this build up of energy in the genital area on Mushrooms. Robert Bruce also identifies this as a main energy point.

Isn't DPT like a less intense longer lasting version of DMT that doesn't require a MOAI?

Oral administration of dpt is very inefficient from what I've heard.  An maoi helps but a lot is still needed.

Some say the dpt experience is similar to dmt and some say that it is far from it.  I seem to have a naturally high dmt tolerance and have yet to experience notable effects from it so I cannot personally compare.  The physically stimulating quality of dpt, however, does'nt seem to be shared by dmt(at least to a high degree) from what I've heard.  Both are notable for being very intense in proper dosage for the method of administration.

I find that when I'm on any intoxicant really or if I even just relax enough and get my breathing into a semi decent rhythm ill start having my chi start to build up, like Buddha says just keep awareness of your breath and you will reach enlightenment.

It really doesn't take much to develop, just spend some time meditating, and you'll be there before you know it. The real key is to try to get so relaxed you almost have to worry about crapping yourself (not really but you get the idea :P ), then you can start to get the kundalini flowing.

I've had experiences where I've gotten really drunk or high, or both and had some VERY intense experiences though, it can happen from meditating too. Before I learned to go with it I felt that unpleasantness that you guys are talking about here, that really is kundalini energy trying to flow, you just have'nt relaxed enough to let it happen. Once you do its like flipping a switch, honestly one of the most amazing things that'll ever happen to you. Suddenly the tension turns into the greatest electric/blisfull feeling and every hair on your body will stand on end, your skin will be on fire, and the sensation of your chi flowing is better than any drug in many ways, that is why some teachers call for caution, rightfully so. If a person starts building up chi but hasnt learned how to relax enough then you start getting anxiety attacks and all sorts of crap, I would bet actually that thats what most peoples anxiety attacks are tbh.

If you really look at it when they say that humanity is undergoing a evolution maybe thats where it starts, almost like a second puberty if you look at it. Peoples energy body's are activating, and drug use usually helps too, but they dont know how to deal with this happening and maybe a few of them go schitzo or get panic attacks like i said, I did about a gram of some zoomers this weekend camping and instantly when the high hit me I had a massive surge of chi and it lasted the entire trip, by far the best trip ive ever had, and im sure thats the feeling a lot of those drugs are giving you artificially.
