The Kundalini Serpent and the Left Hand Path?
    #12009577 -

Can anyone recommend some good reading on these topics and their interconnection to each other?

Here are some interesting quotes I've found so far:

Quote:
Each system of spiritual attainment attempts to reach into the heavens.  But only the few, the cursed, have dared to pull the heavens to earth in a fiery collision.  Only a few have shed enough blood into the dark waters to not only stir, but to fully awaken the Serpent and bring his wrath upon the face of the earth.

--EA Koetting

Quote:
Questioner: I am sorry for my lack of penetration of these mechanisms and I apologize for some rather stupid questions, but I think we have here a point that is somewhat central to what we are presently attempting to understand. Some of my next questions may be almost unacceptably stupid, but I will attempt to try to understand what this power that our visitor seeks is and how he uses it. It seems to me that this is central to the mind and its evolution.

As our visitor increases his power through these works, what is the power that he increases? Can you describe it?

Ra: I am Ra. The power of which you speak is a spiritual power. The powers of the mind, as such, do not encompass such works as these. You may, with some fruitfulness, consider the possibilities of moonlight. You are aware that we have described the Matrix of the Spirit as a Night. The moonlight, then, offers either a true picture seen in shadow or chimera and falsity. The power of falsity is deep as is the power to discern truth from shadow. The shadow of hidden things is an infinite depth in which is stored the power of the One Infinite Creator.

The adept, then, is working with the power of hidden things illuminated by that which can be false or true. To embrace falsity, to know it, and to seek it, and to use it gives a power that is most great. This is the nature of the power of your visitor and may shed some light upon the power of one who seeks in order to serve others as well, for the missteps in the night are oh! so easy.

"the tantric way" by ajit mookerjee and madhu khanna, reads like a textbook and can be dry, good to have around for reference.

i've never heard of the left hand path?

oh and here's a rather trite, but interesting article on kundalini  http://www.yogajournal.com/wisdom/2258

and here's another that goes a little deeper below the surface: http://www.yogajournal.com/wisdom/2240

that second article and a yoga teacher i studied with about 4 years ago are what piqued my interest in the Tantric branch of Yoga.

Well obviously any categorization through names of different spiritual paths will be imperfect but I guess I'm making a loose distinction between spiritual paths that involve a long period of time, dedicated practice of techniques, and association with some sort of guru and spiritual paths that involve getting forcibly ripped onto the fast track and having to learn how to manage the chaotic turmoil of overflowing psychological processes on one's own.  Another analogy might be a lightworker's path as compared to a darkworker's path.

In some offshoot Hindu practices, it is recognized that as the Yogi reaches a certain stage of development, he will experience “instant Karma,” where his wrongdoings will immediately compound upon him, rather than waiting years or even lifetimes to return.  This is very similar to what I’m talking about here.  Your physical being and environment responds sometimes chaotically to the increased vibrations in an attempt to adapt to them.  It is a natural “culling” of yourself and everything around you.

Yeah I have the feeling that I've triggered some involuntary, unstoppable process that's gonna end up completely mindfucking my consciousness.

I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,

any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I've been here , in this stage , for some time now..it seems.

Again.. i don't believe that this is some force out there that we should call karma.
I think its me doing it.
Sort of like.. balancing the energy so as not to be in dept.
I take a little bit away from you..
then.. some of mine is taken away and given back to you..
and i think this all done underneath the awareness of the conscious mind.
Its like  we're all energy businessmen underneath.

I think this is one of the reasons why my interaction with people has become less frequent as of late.
Why cant we all just forgive each other ?
Make it understood that we all forgive each other.
Sort of like an unspoken disclaimer whirling about in the air , and we all turn our heads away from it and engage in this battle over oxygen.

It just bores me .. the whole thing you know..
like.. if im mean to you.. and you're the kind of person that doesn't get upset by that , to the point where you start leaking energy..
then im in the clear basically.

But.. if you're the kinda person that will feel endangered by this attitude i might display.. you basically suck me into this transaction.

The line between good guys and bad guys grows thin my friends.
Roles are becoming reversed as we go deeper into the mystery or maybe our perspective on the dichotomy becomes very cloudy and confusing.

The truth is this.. and you need no book to understand it.
It is a very big sacrifice choosing the left hand path.

You have to get all these "goody people" to accept you and forgive you , while giving them every reason not to.

A path that requires deeper amnesia than the one you currently suffer.

I just want to breathe freely without having a thought somewhere in the back of my mind that every inhale is a lone that i must pay back with an exhale.

Universes collapse as i fill my lungs with oxygen and novel ones created as i feed the trees.
A dynamic existence of infliction and retribution manifested into dualism.
One has no choice but to endure the nemesis , one has created for hirself.

We are born.. and we scream and cry over the first breath we take.

Oooohhhhh shit.
What have i gotten myself into.

It is life.
Expanding and contracting to our eager eyes  and as the layers get thinner and drier they peal off to reveal a realm in which everything is understood.
Nothing has been taken , and nothing needs to be returned.
It is but one identity conducting all the transactions between these illusory manifestations existing in amnesia.

And while the drama never stops , a sign stands on every path like the man on the stairs that wasn't there.
It points at you approving and simultaneously disapproving each and every one of your actions memory has bothered to shove into history.

As the music on your path turns into a broken record and all the signs begin to rust , a cry is uttered.
Your tired lungs have one last thing to do before you are swept by the dust underneath your feet.

A spark of light is born from this final exhale you have birthed with all the energy your old bones  and withering lungs can muster.
A little sparrow has sprung out of your mouth in  a flight you can now only feel in memory.
The playful flapping of the wings and a tune that only little birdies use to jerk your tears and spread your mouth wide open into explosive laughter and delight.

Now you have remembered.
This.. is what brought it all about.
This.. is the message you have been ignoring all of your days.
The sign on the road could not have been clearer.

Nothing too serious is going on here.

WE hurt.
We draw tears and blood and then take a massive shit in that red sea.

We are ever hunted.
Running and hiding from the dragon that has no mirrors in his cave.
A drama we perpetuate with our seemingly unbreakable resilience to the so apparent truth ...

We are but musing ourselves with an illusion.
Passing sand around in a game of musical chairs that sit on sand themselves.

Let it go.
Let it slip out of your hands and let the chairs sink into history while we fly upward into a new myth.
A new story.
A different level of a different game.

Is it not time .. ? Am i the only one exhausted and nauseous ?

What would you do if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

We shake hands in agreement. As if a contract exists. Something we deem to be objective and both adhere to. We both use the same hand to symbolize this.

We hold hands in acceptance. As if no contract exists and nothing objective out there can defy the beauty of our differences. We use opposite hands to symbolize this.

... and you dont have to shake my hand on that one.

I completely agree, and I'm not even sure what the difference is between a good or bad guy anymore.  I have a feeling this is related to the Ethical Triangle of the Kabbalah though and that a future remembering will make this all clear.  (Or at least this part, at any rate.)

Yes, this is what transcending duality is all about.  Things get tricksy once you get past this though... imagine what happens if one transcends monism for nihilism?

Yea... well I was thinking a lot about this LHP RHP ordeal before going to sleep for my afternoon nap and I had this dream:

“Crowley’s Apprentice”

At first I was dosing out some 2-CI in my room. I felt as if I wasn’t myself. I was one Aleister Crowley’s apprentices. Next I was sitting next to Crowley. I remember getting a rise out of him by telling him he may have some gypsy blood in him. We talked about power. I remember smiling at him knowing he knew exactly what I was thinking. We both identified very much with our white heritage.

Next I was in Scotty's room which had all of these games around. I remember comparing it to my room which had all of my books. The dream cut to everyone in the frat. Everyone who went out and drank last night had someone else in their body. I was Bert, and I had shaving cream all over me. I was looking around for who was in my body.

To me, this dream demonstrates the pure duality between between the two paths. The contrast between my room and my brothers room, shows that our personalities and inherent gifts may push us to either side of the spectrum. I took the negative identification of Crowley as a bigot to say the LHP is not as accepting, and is more on the service to self(ego) side of things, as opposed to the service to others, oneness of the RHP. The alcohol switching bodies ordeal I interpreted as "when we consume substances, we are not ourselves." Oh, the cosmic dance is a exciting thing. :yinyang:

Synchronicity:

Aleister Crowley = AC
deCypher = DC

AC + DC = AC/DC

There is an AC/DC poster on my wall.

Its featured album is Highway to Hell.

Hell is associated with 666.

666 is the number of none other than the Great Beast himself.

Regarding the dangers of Kundalini, yes its real. I have done imbalanced pranyama before and got really spaced out one time thought it was the end of the world. Its pretty real.

What happends is energy gets clogged, in the internal organs. Cause some of those yoga schools dont do other balancing practices to open the nadis and meridians in the arms and legs.
Some yoga schools JUST do pranayama, and those people are asking for it.

The internal organs need to "vent", from all that build up.

Hatha yoga is great because it stretches the legs spine and arms, and neck all important channels that need to be open so you dont get Kundalini Disaster from too much stuck energy in one place..

Hatha yoga is good too because it keeps the spine aligned stacked as well as keeping the abdominal mmuscles flexible and suble. Which is really important. Everything needs to be aligned.

If you are interested in more about the dangers and how to prevent them I recommend reading
Mantak Chia from his book series Awaken Healing Energy of the Tao.

Also I know other sources if you PM i can tell you.

hmmm i think ill just chime in to say one might want to be careful about treading along the LHP or seeking power - it can be very destructive i imagine and also not fulfilling

the 'goal' is to see beyond all illusory selfhood - RHP benefits the individual consciousness by forgetting about it - it is very very important imo to make initial efforts towards selfless benevolent motivations prior to getting serious with spiritual systems - even if another path on the surface appears more appealing

but its up to the individual (but be careful) :sun:

If one understands the nature of the LHP one will understand that morality does not exist.

In my humble opinion, of course... RHP does ultimately serve society but society is taking a long time to catch up with it.

Re: The Kundalini Serpent and the Left Hand Path? [Re: deCypher]
    #12013823 -

I have had three kundalini experiences in the last 3 years.  i never knew of the term kundalini until recently.  i am currently reading two books:

spiritual emergency by grof
and the kundalini experience by lee sannella

I find it very assuring that I had these experiences before I read about them, so as I wouldn't have been influenced by the accounts of it.

My first experience with a Kundalini experience was in high school, and this where I underwent my first and most expansive awakening.  I was alone for the weekend cause my friends were out of town.  In my boredom,  I decided to try out yoga and meditation.  And, during one of these meditations, i felt a pain/warmth/burning sensation at the base of my spine, right above the crack, and i felt this incredible rush of energy and ecstasy.  I started experimenting with my body.  I was able to bend and stretch like i never could before.  I ejaculated while flacid... still don't understand that.  I could control my body temperature.

This last all weekend, and I went hiking, and did these sheets of numerology where I was convinced I had discovered the numerical value for every letter in english by using all sorts of crazy math like the fibonocci sequence... i still have these papers, they are very confusing.

Well, Lol,  I had school on Monday,  I hadn't slept, and I was only eating carrots and drinking water, as during my experience, i could see all the toxins in my body, and i was expelling them out through different means.

I went to class, this is a small private top-of-the-notch academic school, and i was literally shaking in my chair, cause everything was so bright, and it was like seeing all my class maters for the first time,  I raised my hand, and I asked if I could teach a lesson to the class, and this was a very open-minded teacher, the class was "humanities", and i began to explain the numerology on the white board, and i had titled my lesson, How to Be a Rockstar 101.

Well, everyone was very freaked out, no one recognized me.  I had lost 10 pounds in a matter of days, and so they sent me to the nurse.  The nurse took my temperature and it was 99.7.  She said I couldn't stay at school cause I had fever, but I told her, you give me 15 minutes, and my temperature will be 98.6, she was weirded out, but I insisted, and believe or not, she took it again, and it was 98.7, I smiled at her, and she turned white as a ghost.

By this time, they thought I was absolutely nuts, so they called my dad, and he came to the school, and the dean, and principle were in the nurse's office with me, and i tried to explain what was happening, but they didn't understand.

so they decided to send me to the emergency room,  I walked into the emergency room, and I began to feel panic, what was I going to say?  how could I communicate to these doctors what was going on?  well, i tried.... and suffice to say they injected me with stuff to put me to sleep,  and they gave me a spinal tap, which I think killed the spiritual energy, and they gave me brain scan cause they though i was either schizophrenic or had menangitis

well,  i remember, they had me all drugged up and i coudlnt move, but i was still aware of myself, and my thoughts, and i remember having visions that i didn't exist, and that my reflection could not be seen in the mirror, and i remember, i rose from this bed i was in, and I said, " I am a vampire " very softly to the nurse, and I laid back down.

well i was given more sedatives, and the next time I woke up was in the psych ward, and they put me on all sorts of crazy drugs... probably haldol or thorazine considering how awful i felt,

and I had no one in my life that could help me, or explain what had happened so, I believed I was crazy, and by believing I was crazy, I reinforced it in my mind, and that fucked up my life for a year and a half.  i was on all sorts of drugs, and then i lashed out by using ecstasy, meth, coke, alcohol, ketamine, and during this time, i ended up in like 5 psych wards and 3 rehabs,

well it was in one of these rehabs, promises was the name, that this spiritual teacher came in to do yoga, and things started to make sense, and i started realizing what had happened was something spiritual, and that i wasn't crazy... cause I never felt crazy.. everyone just told me I was crazy.

and this teacher, a rabbi and spiritual guru, was talking about this places of bliss you can reach in meditation and whatnot, and there I was very interested in all this junk.

So ya,  I was on medications/street drugs for a year and a half, and bounced around, and i did some really fucked up shit.

And I finally, after 6 or so months of being sober, and 3 months not on any meds, I had another Kundalini experience, but this time, although I didn't know the name of it, I knew it was something spiritual,  so I stayed in doors, away from people, and did reading, writing, meditation... I actually wrote an 8 page poem on the future of the world... I think It's amazing, and everyone who has read it says its amazing, and I am hoping to publish it after my first book  gets more success....  and again... I felt this pulsating warmth/burning in the base of my spine that went up to the top of my head, and i had visions while I wrote the poem, and the poem is my visions in poetic form.

The last one I had was like a week ago, again I felt the burning sensation at the base of  my spine, and I did some writing of poems, not as prophetic as the other one, but I felt a lot of clarity in seeing certain things, and during this period, I also accurately guessed a stranger's birth date.

I have no fucking idea what triggers them.  I think it is something emotional or something, I don't know, that's why I am reading those books right now cause the experiences were so powerful, and they have completely shaped my life, and these feeling were affirmed by how accurate everything is that i am reading.

so, i look forward to learning more about the kundalini, and i am hoping to have more in the future because my poems are much more inspired, an i learn a lot from them.

Just to add, many frequent OBEers consider the "Kundalini" experience as synonymous to out-of-body experiences. Essentially, the RHP aims, through dedication (whether it be meditation, trance work, energy work, etc), to achieve fully conscious and controllable OBEs - without the aid of substance.

Quote:
There is a direct connection between trance states, the
vibrational state, and Kundalini experiences. They are all natural
preludes to an authentic spiritual experience. Those who
are prepared for the intensity of these states of consciousness
will often experience a rich spiritual connection. Those who
are uninformed about trance and vibrational states of consciousness
and inexperienced with them are often startled by
the energy of the experience; many report being frozen with
fear and prematurely ending their pending out-of-body adventure.
The key to moving beyond this fear is the accumulation
of accurate information and knowledge. Simply put: The
more prepared you are for the phenomena that occur immediately
before a spiritual experience, the greater the potential
results.

The vibrational state is generally identified with any phenomena
that occur immediately before an out-of-body experience.
These include vibrations, strange energy sensations and
surges, sounds, and paralysis. This state is commonly reported
to begin at the head, neck, and stomach areas and then spread
to envelop the entire body. The vibrations are often accompanied
by numbness, paralysis, and noises such as a buzzing, humming,
voices, or a roaring sound. The intensity and duration of
these phenomena varies tremendously. It should be noted that
the vibrational state energies are often reported during
Kundalini experiences and trance states of consciousness. In
fact, the lines between the three often blur beyond recognition.

hmmm i think ill just chime in to say one might want to be careful about treading along the LHP or seeking power - it can be very destructive i imagine and also not fulfilling

the 'goal' is to see beyond all illusory selfhood - RHP benefits the individual consciousness by forgetting about it - it is very very important imo to make initial efforts towards selfless benevolent motivations prior to getting serious with spiritual systems - even if another path on the surface appears more appealing

but its up to the individual (but be careful) :sun:

If one understands the nature of the LHP one will understand that morality does not exist.

In my humble opinion, of course... RHP does ultimately serve society but society is taking a long time to catch up with it.

(just some unnecessarily polarized comment)

sorry, didn't mean to come across as ignorant or biased

but my understanding is that the LHP involves black magic and the accumulation of power for ones own benefit. while i don't believe in objective morality or 'sin' myself - i believe that can be quite dangerous (both in the sense that seeking power seems dangerous to the individual [as in not leading to eternal fulfillment], as well as the karmic responses (and subjective morality) against hurting/controlling others)

but i haven't really read much about magic or RHP/LHP so i may be totally off the mark here

I mean, I'd say it's probably riskier for sure but the experiences make it worthwhile.

I don't know enough about this stuff to know if this is relevant, but I used to attend a Vajrayana Buddhist center regularly, and I once heard someone say that normal Buddhist practice is like a steady bicycle that leads you down the path to liberation through many lifetimes -- but Vajrayana is for people who can't wait that long to liberate all sentient beings, and want to be strapped up to a high-volt charge and turned loose.  It's more intense and painful, but faster.  This is definitely a distinct model from what you're describing, but I see some parallels.

I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

i'd agree with that lion

i've heard something along the lines of "the vajrayana is for people who want out of samsara yesterday"

why did you stop going to the center?

I could never find the willpower to sustain a practice, and felt it wouldn't be in the best interest of the Sangha for me to come around on weekends if I wasn't really putting the path into practice the rest of the week.

i'm sure they wouldn't mind - and i can't see anything negative coming from it (even if you didn't practice frequently)

even if you only listened to teachings and never practiced, i'd imagine the potentialities imparted on your mindstream could ripen in a subsequent life where you'd be more drawn to regular practice

that's exxxactly what popped into my head too Lion.

i had a not quite spontaneous but unexpected transcendent experience while meditating once.  i mean, i had been meditating on my own for a while, since i had gotten back from this ashram which was a life altering experience.  and i was at sangha with some tibetan buddhists, having just chanted the heart sutra together, when it happened.  I can imagine that had I not already been studying (buddhism, taosim, yoga) and practicing Yoga for 7 years, it may have been scary, possibly disconcerting.

I can say that not ejacuating for three months with perineum contractions causes a Jump up my spine last winter. Energy Zig Zagged up, hit my pineal gland and I started to get a "nectar" taste, that secreted in my mouth.

I know it wasnt the full Kundalini but my intuition then multiplied by 10x. I felt really good but wasnt able to sustain that state of mind.
