Put a light behind it so light shines throyg so we can get a clear view it's dark and hard to see to make a good assumption

That seems better with the light the mycelium just looks weak and wispy but I have had jars with myc that looked off that did good wait till its done and post a pic but seems to me you could use that

I mean there’s enough moisture there that you see a grain sticking to the side

It does seem wispy.  I have a confession to make.  These jars sat in the fridge a week before I nocc’ed them. I know, I know, I don’t wanna hear it.

It doesn’t look vigorous. Not saying it’s contamed or dry either, just looks weak. Don’t pitch it yet but if it doesn’t show some more vigor I would think hard before I spawn or expand it.

Always have back up Haha.. even if you dont use it it's nice to have more jars ready .. I have had full jars in the fridge for 9 months and pushed out some bad ass flushes

If it’s ms could just be unlucky genetics. If a clone or isolate sometimes that’s a sign of senescence.

Then I am scratching my head.  I don’t understand what went wrong.  Weak genetics is the only thing I can think.  Lame.

I ran through that with alot of cultures that weren't stored properly and took me a few months to go through em all and dispose of good and bad .. it wasnt a great task

Agreed. Every time you put spores to a plate it’s going to be somewhat random. Some varieties have tendencies but nothing is guaranteed. PE is know for forming dick shaped shrooms and blobs, but sometimes it doesn’t. There have been blobs and dick shaped fruits pop up in other lineages. Hunt around, there is good genetics to be found in most lineages.

Definitely can find some killer genetics with agar even with ms I have transferred to damn near mono culture and have had some great consistent flushes ... but I like clones easier and faster to judge on performance then fucking with ms and more consistent ... one way I test my clones is take a small bite of the stem and if within 20 minutes I dont feel a body high I toss the plate

Dry grains on top,after a good mix it’ll all catch up I’ve had 4 jars the last run look like that and all came out fine, kept one in the closet to see if I can get some good stones out of it from how solid it turned
