New Mexican President Sells Off Airline Cause Its "Too Lavish" * 1
    #25656086 -

Right on Mexico. Proud of you.

https://nationalpost.com/news/world/too-lavish-new-mexico-leader-amlo-sells-off-presidential-boeing-787-thats-more-plush-than-air-force-one

The governments of the world needs more this kind of thinking. I hope other countries follow suit.

Lets close that income inequality a little!

What is his stance on Tijuana and general illegal immigration?

I wonder what his stance is on the corrupt border patrol firing tear gas into Mexico.

Xul did you know over 500 employees of ICE and the border patrol have been arrested on corruption charges in the past two years?

I think he is probably more concerned about his own border patrol.

If he is concerned about the illegal immigrants in Tijuana, then he ought to give them a choice to claim asylum or be deported. Otherwise he is ignorant of the entire situation.

Then I would argue that his priorities are in the wrong area. His people in Tijuana are calling for help.

He needs to grant asylum or deport.

Thinking about Trump will not solve anything.

I doubt he is doing nothing but thinking of Trump man  also right now there's massive deportation going on in Mexico so I'm not sure what you're talking about..

That's excellent to hear Mexico is taking care of illegal aliens.

Are you happy about that?

Yes and I'm happy about enforcing illegal immigration here as well. What I'm not happy about is spending exorbitant amounts of money for a few dozen miles of an asinine wall, when we have cartels digging tunnels, smuggling people in cars and bribing u.s. border patrol agents. It is an extremely large amount of money for something that may never help our immigration problem at all.

Furthermore when Trump initially had the big ICE raids for second generation Mexican, my friend who was an upstanding citizen and love this country just as much as the next guy got deported in two weeks later he was decapitated. Then there is family separation which already happened when illegals would try and bring their children in babies and Trump ramped that up.

I guess what I'm saying is you can still believe in strong Border Protection and not support the wall or other failed endeavours.

Yeah. I feel you.

I was up in the air about the wall at first, but it makes more and more sense to me now. It will help funnel people into ports of entry where they can legally apply to America.

By cutting aid off from Mexico, Honduras, and so forth, we could start paying on the wall. By reducing illegal immigration, we can lessen the strain on public services and save those services for legal Americans.

As for the ladder or tunnel argument, well, people have Gates and doors on their  property that can be rammed through, but that doesn't mean they don't stave off many offenders.

Yes but most people who have gates and doors don’t have expensive cartels creating vast tunnels under their houses and bribing people to get past your doors.

“We could start paying on the wall”

Mexico is paying for it, remember?

You should forget that idea. Your president couldn’t negotiate himself out of a paper bag. It’s been two years.

Most?

I would argue that gang activity parallels cartel activity in some way -- especially MS-13. Just because violent gangs can break your door down doesn't mean you shouldn't have one.

Quote:
President Donald Trump racked up an estimated $17 million tab by flying on Air Force One to more than 40 political rallies in the lead up to the 2018 midterm elections, a Quartz investigation found.

Because Trump had been using the plane to stump for Republican candidates, the GOP or his re-election campaign is supposed to reimburse taxpayers for a portion of the cost. However, Quartz reports that the Trump campaign has thus far only paid the Treasury $112,667.90 in March and April for air travel expenses, or approximately 0.7 percent of the total cost. It is unclear when, or if, the campaign might issue additional payments.
