Using clean clone plates

Here is one of my petris that I used to grow out a clone from a good producer:


Same plate, from the bottom. You can see where I took a transfer at about 4 o’clock, and everything else looks clean:


So I have a clean transfer from this original clone plate, and I was wondering what SOP is for clone plates?  Can I save the clean transfer culture and use this one with the piece of flesh on it for grain jars?  Can the cloned piece contam the jars if it didn’t contam the plates?

Should probably be fine. There's an miniscule chance there is some kind of contaminant hiding out on the tip of the flesh you deposited in there, but I'd risk it.

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it.  That'll save me a couple of weeks waiting for another plate to colonize.

I'd throw it in some grain. If it contams at this point it's technique, not the culture.
