Importance of removing pins for subsequent flush(es)

Like the title sais; how important is it to remove the smallest pins from the first flush for subsequent flushes? I always get quite a lot of pins in the first flush that don't mature. I can leave them... but they will not mature.
Somehow I hate removing them because it's a lot of them and I can't get a grip on them. I end up squashing the caps and still leave a tiny stem. That's why I am curious If it's really important to remove them...
