They go to a prison which gender they see themselves as. Ridiculous imo they should be in a prison with their actual sex not what they see themselves as.

OP they'd probably put them in medical, a mental health module (unlikely), or some kind of voluntary segregation.

People opt in to being out of gen pop all the time and for jail I'm sure this is what a smart trans person would do to stay safe since jail is literally full of ignorant violent people

For prison there is usually a gay safe or sex offender one (not the same thing). They might see if they wanted to opt into that since they're already a target and those are designed to protect people everyone would want to fuck with

I hope you aren't bringing up serious issues just to shoot shit. I get it but seriously this is life or death for real people. If you're going to bring it up I would hope you would consider it seriously, especially so you don't make us all seem insincere on trans rights and safety.

Good question--one I've never thought of--and some great answers.

Though, I imagine the prisons for lgbtq inmates only came as a response to some terribly negative occurrences and/or patterns of behavior from those who didn't agree with their lifestyle; more  of a reactive response than a proactive intuition.

Do y'all think any inmates try to take advantage of these options, such as posing as members of the lgbtq community to place themselves in a seemingly less-scary environment?

Was there a missing reply? It seems like it should take a couple messages to get from this to not wanting transgender Jews in your family.

Kibbutz? Hell, just send him to a Shabbaton or even a normal Shabbat service and have him dance in a circle with a bunch of Hasidim.

In england they put a granny in a female prison and she raped other women there so they put her in a male prison.

This is why it's going to be a special case for a while. If you're scheming so bad they send you to prison and you're already a rapist, wearing a dress is just another tactic.

But there are also trannies racketeering and moving meth and all the shit nonqueer people get locked up for too and we owe them equal protection. Just like girls that might be locked in with a man in disguise.

If life imitates television, which let's be real, life IS Downtown Abbey!

Then obviously all trans women in prisons are only there to operate a makeshift hair salon and have vivid flashbacks about how tough it was being a trans woman, and still is. Also, they occasionally get locked up in segregation for once having had a penis.
